when is Vitamin C flush appropriate?

hi there,

this time round (4th and 5th flagle pulse) have felt that anti-poryphoria measures have worked better - since I am now doing them properly!!!!!

I take the cholestyramine sometimes, charcoal others.  I take lots of B12 (so delicious!) and I try to remember the Emergen C/glucose drink!

What I am unsure about is when I should do the Vitamin C flush.  Is it just a feeling of being weighed down despite above measures?  Does it tend to be last on people's list?  Just wondering.

I still feel weak and fatigued after my last pulses - but the anti-porphoria measures I am using at least seem to help deal with the sudden angry impulses and vile headaches.

Vitamin C flush is a bit

Vitamin C flush is a bit drastic for some people.   If you have IBSi or diverticulosis I would be very cautious about doing it.   Anything that interferes with my lower GI tract I am cautious about.   It will also mean that you have to be near a toilet for the day...

Hopefully, other people who have actually experienced one might give you the benefit of their experience.

yes, i did one a few days

yes, i did one a few days ago, and was surprised a little.  This time I did it properly with Buffered vitamin C powder, and you are right.  Though it was very easy in a way, it did feel a little drastic.  I did it in the second part of the day so that at least I could go to bed after and recover!  But yes i take your point.

 I certainly would agree

I certainly would agree with Michele's cautions, but it really saved me to have it at about day three of pulses for the first year or so. I use it only rarely now, but when I need a drastic measure it really comes through. I'd usually do it first thing in the morning so I wouldn't clear out all my meds using it, then could get on with my day. I didn't need recovery as it really made me feel lots better.
