When to begin Azithromycin?

I have been on doxyi now for more than a month.  I haven't had any serious reactions.  I'm taking a good probiotic to minimize worsening of my candida.  When should I think of taking my next abxon the protocol?

Thanks

Gisela

My understanding is that as soon as 100 mg per day of Doxyi is well tolerated, you add in the Azith 250 mg three times a week, then after that is tolerated, you add another 100 mg of Dozy per day. That is what I did anyways, on the Wheldon Protocol. It worked well for me.

Lived with MSi since 1991. Completed 16 months of full CAPi plus supplementsi. Currently in full remission. Not on any antiobiotics anymore but taking all supplementsi incl NACi.

Gisela, Your question is somewhat personal in nature and would be best served to be included under the heading of your blog.  I took a look and you have not started a blog yet.  It is the best place to share a bit about your situation, background and current treatment specifics.   It takes a little time to start the blog but then you also have a log about how things are going for you over time.  This protocol takes time that is for sure I have been on it for about 15 montsh now and am much improved.

Also I notice that you have not updated your signature with your current treatment plan, keeping this current allows people to give better feedback to your specifics.

Gisela, If you are tolerating the doxyi well, then there is nothing keeping you from adding your next antibiotic. You can add the azithromycin CAUTIOUSLY and see how it goes for you. Before Dr. Wheldon revised his protocol, I started with azithromycin one day and added 200mg of doxycycline one or two days later. I have always done full doses of the protocol from the very beginning.

I believe, although I'm not certain, the idea of adding azith to only 100mg/daily of doxy is to ensure the two antibioticsi are working synergistically sooner, rather than later.  Together, they stave off the development of resistance, so you want to get that working for you as soon as possible.  Then you can add in the final 100/mg daily of doxy, for a total of 200mg/daily.

Or, if you want to be like many of us who started before so much was known about treatment, just go up to 200mg/daily doxy now. Once you know you're tolerating it okay, add in the azith.

In my 35months on the protocol, I've had very few reactions to the meds.  Hopefully, you'll have it as easy as I have.

Thank you all for your help.  I've decided to get on Azithromycin as soon as I see my doc on Oct 2nd.

Thanks again

Gisela
