Website Improvements Wish List?

Comments on another thread have made it clear that some people have found using www.cpnhelp.org difficult. I take these expressions seriously, and God knows we who are sick, brain fogged, computer challenged and porphyric don't need another aggravation!

There have been a number of things I've not been happy with about Drupal (the CMS web system we use). The rich text editor has inconsistencies between browsers (this is true for all of them in other systems as well), configuration is complicated and multilayered.

But it is the only system which allows the combination of things this website requires: easily editable text and articles; organized in book format; forums; blogs; messaging; images; etc. Joomla and others do one part of this well, but lacks in other functions. It's modules, including the contributions module, antispam and many others, have made it possible to do many more things than other systems. But doing more things means doing everything a little less well.

But here is the biggest complication: www.cpnhelp.org is by nature a big and, as has been put, a "sprawling" site because it seeks to do all many things: educate, supply information, update on new research, provide discussions, blogs, and communications. And this is all faced by people who are by nature of our disease brain fogged, confused, it takes 10 repititions to register anything, and so on. The CAPi protocol itself is terribly confusing to people at first, no matter how simple it's steps.

Now, improvements can be made. Let's start a "website wishes" list of things you would like to improve your experience here. Some of it can be done, I'm sure, and we have funds available to have our web master tweak some things for a better experience. Other things may be part of the nature of Cpnhelp, or part of the nature of Drupal as a compromise between complicated demands. Any of our community with web and especially Drupal experience are welcome to contribute assistance and advice, as this is mostly a volunteer effort.
