Update

My friend and PT told me she tried to call me as ABC had some type a report about Lyme outbreak in MI just this week.Surprised I am sorry I missed it. I see my doctor Thurs. and plan to go up north for vacation on Friday. I have done pretty well on increased doxyi and diflucan. I have been more tired and had one really bad day emotionally but overall pretty well. I am also using vicks, oil and foot baths in epson salts and peroxide. I have been drinking 8 glasses of water a day - its hard as I live in the bathroom but I think it has to be helping with die off. Improvements - my toes almost look normal - 80 % better. I can't believe it! Mobility is a little bit better as my spasticity is reduced.

People have commeted that my speech is better.

All good news - my only concern is staying out of the sun up north as we plan to go to beach, sand dunes, water park....I am going to ask if I can reduce my doxy dose for a few days, otherwise its the hotel room with a book for me.

Wiggy, I doubt if reducing

Wiggy, I doubt if reducing your doxyi dose for a few days will help any, but a high factor sunscreen and a beach parasol will, then you get the fresh air that you won't in a hotel room.

Have a good time and great news about your foot fungus!...............Sarah

Ok Sarah - I have beach

Ok Sarah - I have beach parasol - so I'll take it and find shade at all times if possible.

Nice to hear that you feel

Nice to hear that you feel you are making some progress and that you have a holiday to look forward to.   Like Sarah says, sit under a parasole and make sure all of you is in the shade, you'll have to get someone to be a shadow watcher and move it as necessary.   But it would be a shame to hide in the hotel room.

Hi Wiggy, I remember

Hi Wiggy, I remember vacationing "up north" quite well. I hope that you're not stuck in the hotel room and that you have an absolutely wonderful time. I think that Sarah's probably right about not reducing the doxyi. It does make sense. Didn't hear about the Lyme outbreak in MI, either. Am glad that it's making the news. But, have been reading warnings about sunblocks...that many don't work and contain nanoparticle carcinogens:  LINK I should have bookmarked the more scientific article that I read, but didn't. Sarah and Michele are right that the best sunblocks are physical, not chemical. Am glad that you upped your water intake. In Dr. Brownstein's book, his formula for water intake is to divide one's weight in lbs, by 2. And that's supposed to be how much one is recommended to drink per day.  Am so glad that your feet are clearing up! That your speech is better is amazing, too. I hope that you all have a great time, "up north!" --Minai Smile

Minai, Just checked brand

Minai, Just checked brand of sunscreen I have - not a good one. I need to go shopping before we go so I will pick up one on the list - thanks. It use to be so packed up north in the summer, you had to book early. This year they still have rooms as my mom got one last week. Did you enjoy Dr. Brownsteins book? My sister is one of his patients. I hope your out of that house by the time I get back.

  Also, Roc face

Also, Roc face sunscreen, which contains zinc and titanium but is quite expensive if you put it on more than just your face.  Try covering just your face and hands and wear something like lightweight silk blouse and loose trousers.

In the UK it seems funny to think of people vacationing "up north" and haveing to beware of the sun!.............Sarah

Thanks Sarah, I will look for Roc. Most people in Michigan travel north to Lake Michigan or Lake Huron. It is actually cooler than where I live but we will spend time at the Lake, parks and sand dunes and can't avoid the sun.

Hi Wiggy, Hope so, too. Am glad that your Mom found a room. I think my most memorable time "up North" was in the fall, riding horseback on Mackinaw Island. Not so much sun, then. Am learning a lot from Brownstein's book. Gotta wonder if he would prescribe CAPi, like Dr. Stratton does. Maybe your sister knows or could ask. --Minai

Minai, Makinaw Island is fun - we took Maggie 5 years ago - she was a little too little. I will find out about capi and Brownstein. I almost tried to get into him again ,I went to one of his partners years ago, as he was booked. When I tested positive for Lyme, I picked the Lyme guy.
