underworld

Here we have Nancy's Underworld 2, a dark and mysterious place but seething with life.

I'm looking for her trademark brain: I think I see it.............Sarah

ooohhhh, pretty!  it's got a lot of life in it.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world’s problems. Mohandas Gandhi

Is that a brain scan in the lower right quadrant?

Thank you Sarah for posting and liking this. And thanks MacK.

Janice, no brain scan in this one. I have another with brain scans that Sarah can post.

A Journey through Light and Shadow

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MSi in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

This is very good: congratulations. It is the kind of work in which you can see numerous pareidolia, as implied by the title. (Pareidolia are images drawn in the mind - like faces in the fire.)

D W - [Myalgia and hypertension">i (typically 155/95.) Began (2003) taking doxycycline and macrolide and later adding metronidazolei. No medication now. Morning BP typically 110/75]

Nancy there is so much fight and hope in your painting! It's so positive! I love it.

Evita, I have felt so hopeless sometimes that your insight actually makes me feel better.

Dear Nancy,

Looking at your painting and its title, I am reminded of the Benthic Life in a pond. The bottom life deterrmines the health of everything above it.   Yours looks like a busy, healthy underworld.

Rica would see the bright colors in your painting and know that your underworld was getting its VitaminD(!)

If you can paint like this when you are feeling awful, think what  larger greatness you will do when you are feeling well. I love your work!  It speaks volumes to me; when I see it, I know that you know too.

Sarah, thx for getting this up for all of us to see. And Nancy, thank you for  agreeing to share your work.

Nancy when I saw your picture for the first time I loved it immediately. I was just starting the pulse and I saw there only positive things inspite of the lot of fight. I don't know when you painted this. If it is one of your latest pieces be happy you are improving. The art is one thing that can't be deceived. It always shows your insight whether you are happy to show it or not. Just make more paintings and the painting will help you in recovering. I envy you and Sarah that you can paint. I am and always was hopeless in it. I think painting is perfect as mental and physical activities.

Looking forward to your next pieces.

I love it Nancy. Simply love it.

Thank you all for your support. I made the piece (it is digital) a month ago and it was quite dark. When I finally printed it out last week (my printer was broken), I went back and changed it to the version you now see. The question is whether it is truly optimistic or wishful thinking; art can go either way.

I'm actually too tired to say. I am still sleeping much and very irregularly and mostly during the day; a bit at night and then I fall asleep at 7 a.m. I have no control over it. I have to go back to work soon and I am afraid I won't make it.

Actually, I'm just plain afraid. When I was first diagnosed I had no idea of how horrible this disease was. By the time I found out, I was on CAPi. But, as you may have read, after 7 years of steady deterioration, I have stopped the CAP. I definitely have CPNi, but I cannot tolerate the meds. The bacteria are simply stronger than I am. And, of course, my PPMSi may be caused by something else; I may have two diseasesi!

So,it is hard to be without hope. I am scared and sad and very tired.

When I finally wake up and go to my studio, we shall see what art I produce.

Sorry to be such a downer.
