My throat became sore last week, it was like swallowing broken glass. My tongue became covered in a thick white coating that had raw patches and so I figured that I've got the yeasties. I am itchy all over, but that could be the heat and high humidity igniting my eczema -- so it may not be a consideration. Today while brushing my teeth & tongue it looked like my tongue was raw and bloody at the back so we took a flashlight and mirror to it. The back and along one side is covered in many small and not so small blisters ,and it looks very raw. It hurts to swallow...
Does anyone know what this is and what I can do to make it better?

Corrina, did your doc give you a prescription for Diflucan (Flucanozole)?? If not,you should talk to him/her about it right away. Sometimes I take it once a week to control yeast. Salt water might work--try unrefined sea salt. I think Iodoral is also effective against yeast.Since I have been taking it I haven't needed to take Diflucan as often!!!

I find that the gargling very hard to do and painful. I also brush with a salt tooth paste which is supposed to help against oral irritations... I do take Iodoral presently. I have Nilstat, I got it online -- will that work? How should I dose it?
I googled and found that it looks exactly like Lichen Planus -- so much so that I'm pretty sure that's what it is. I'd post a piccie but I think you'd all get grossed out.
Could this be tied to my rapid 25lb weight loss, all-over shakes and weakness? I'm into my 12th week of Doxyi and 6th week of Zithi. My diet is all carbs and I'm always eating the pure sugar tabs. I have always had very good blood sugar so diabetes is not a concern. I am at my first day back at work in a few weeks and just want to go back to bed.

Thanks Dan. I just gargled with the backing soda and it was only mildly unpleasant but made my tongue hurt more. I'm looking forward to this being gone.
I'm taking 10,000IU D3 and two VSL3 capsules (450B probiotic) so I'd hoped I would side step this. Tim has no problem and takes the same ABXi (but less D3) as I do, so I think it could that my steroids make me more prone. I blame those steroids for everything!

If it had not been mentioned before I would have suggested Nystatin, Hamish was prescribed it when he had his bone marrow transplant as his immunei system was practically nonexistant. He had to swirl it round in his mouth before swallowing.
I hope you find a solution quickly.

Thanks Dan and Michéle. I started with the Nilstat capsules and will hopefully have the oral formula by tomorrow. I suspect this infection goes beyond my mouth, my eyes are very irritated, my ears are wet with a fine brittle crust in the canal, and I itch from head to toe.
