Update on starting pulsing

Friday, I had my monthly appointment with my doctor and was wanting to hear her mention..... YOU ARE DOING GREAT, SO LET'S START THE PULSING.

Needless to say I am very disappointed to report once again, I am on hold. Here is a overall update to my health quandry.

My feet have been turning cyonotic(BLUE) and I have developed a slight case of vasculitisi. It happens when  I'm cold or when I take a hot shower.

My adrenals are having trouble with the chronic illness along with my thyroid. Although, I am very aware of this during treatment from doing research and reading others blogs, I feel horrible.

Here is my doctors game plan, and I would like to know form others about their opinion.

Barley for Inflammation

We all know that inflammation is what makes us feel so bad when we are fighting persistant infectionsi. Here's some nutritional information from Dr. Weil about barley being a a valuable anti-inflammatory food.

There's a good recipe there for Barley Vegetable soup that seem very soothing for those cold winter nights.

We are what we eat!

LDN a Website video at Mercola.com on LDN

This link just came in on the Mercola.com newsletter. I have not listened to it yet.  But personally have been wondering about it's use in MSi and other inflammationi.  Hope it brings on the full range of discussion.   Louise

Ibuprofen / Inflammation / Flagyl Pulse

Following the last discussion we had about Naproxen / Aleve as a COX-2 Inhibitor, Kim started taking Ibuprofen during pulse week and has just completed her first pulse week with Ibuprofen.  She took 400mg twice a day for the 7 day pulse.  She had a pretty easy pulse feeling somewhat more tired but not nearly as impacted as she had been in other pulses.

Then she stopped taking Ibuprofen on day 8 when she stopped taking Flagyli.

Podcast on Cpn by Two of the Major Chlamydial Researchers

A very good podcast on Chlamydias by two of the top researchers in the area, Elizabeth Stuart and Wilmore Webley at UMass. They discuss the relationship to cardiac disease, some relationship of Chlam T to cervical cancer, and both Chlam T and Cpni to asthmai in children. 70% of pediatric asthma patients they tested have Chlamydia, with sexually transmitted version and respiratory version (Cpn) at about 50-50. Very important work.

18 Months on CAP

Dec 24, 2008 marks the completion of my 18th month of treatment.  I am antibody positive for CPni and Bb.  I started treatment on bacteriocidal level of Doxycycline 400 mg/day for almost 4 months before cutting back to 100 mg BID and adding Roxithromycin 150mg BIDi daily.  Those first 4 months were incapacitating and perhaps advantagious it is water under the bridge and I would not recommend it to others.

the big 7 month update on cap

I have been able to make it to the seventh month of capi and it has not been a easy road. When I started the Wheldon protocol my legs had gotten to a point they were so weak I could bearly stand ,and walking forget it. My husband had to get a wheelchair to help get me arounnd. My children would go grocery shopping for me and then come to the car and help me into the store so I could pay. If I had not been my own health advocate and found a doctor who had compassion and could see how sick I was my life by now would have been a nursing home.

I look back at the seven months and can't believe the strength God has placed in me to get me through this challenge.

Severe Retina Inflammation

I have a primary diagnosis of Sarcoidosis.  In addition to mediatsinal lymphadenopathy, it caused severe inflammation on the retina of my right eye.  I have lost about a third of the vision in that eye due to occluded veins in what can only be described as a retinal infarction.  I attempted the Marshall Protocol, but have recently come off of it after a flare which did more damage to the eye.  That said, I still hold to the bacterial cause for sarcoid and am willing to give this protocol a shot.  My concern is protecting my eye from additional inflammation.  The CAPi in question here will no doubt cause a rise in systemic inflammation due to the die off.  How do I protect my eye while still killing the bacteria?

Second Month on Mino about done.

First of all ... I do not know why I ever complained about not sweating! I had daily & nightly fevers in Sept. Sweating was the way of my existence and drinking water was all I could think about as my thirst was so great. This past month the fevers are letting up. I only sweat a few hours a day usually after dinner or during the night. Occaisonally now I skip a day or maybe two or three at the most. Just when I think the fevers and sweats are going I get hit again. So this has caused me to stay home indoors a lot the past couple months cause my nap time is definitely therapeutic. By afternoon I am drained. However, I jump at the chance and have managed to drive two or three days during the good hours of my better days. Otherwise I think I would go stir crazy.

No Fun being in OZ

My mobility is becoming worse and I am also having neuropathy-type foot drag -- occasionally the  toes on my right foot fold over and I don't feel them right away until I've scraped them on the floor or stairs! And my feet, (even though I  think they are "up") aren't and I trip... I am unsteady.  My husband is constantly having to steady me and help me maneuver on the occasions we leave the house or he pushes me in a transport chair.

These are NEW symptoms which have developed over the last two pulses.   I have had problems with my right knee since the beginning of capi but these symptoms are different. My left knee and leg are now affected.

Using Charcoal to mitigate endotoxins?

I am about to start a pulse in less then a day.  I've been giving thought to ways to reduce the impact of endotoxinsi released during the pulse and have been thinking about Charcoal and how it might be used.  I'd appreciate your insights and opinions on the subject.

I am not sure, know my immune system is out of whack

My many symptoms that some Doctors do not understand.  I have been clinically diagnosed with lyme disease and am positive for B. Duncani.  CD 57 is 52 was 42  CD8 was 3 now 4.  Also ESR is low at 2 with an IgGi sub 4 below normal also have mild autonomic neuropathy? maybe caused by what going on? Do have 30% carotid, maybe low ESR=fibrin problem?

I have been on ABs for a number on months 9.  First Tetracycline - 1 MONTH, then z pach and ceft, 6-8 wks, then plaquinil and biaxin 8 wks and just stoppd a course of mepron and z pack oh was also on diflucan and minoi.... Nothing more than 6-8 weeks..

I had some significant lyme anitgens show which were positive for Igenex purpose.

Cpn panel updated with D25, D1,25 test results

I recently had a blood test done for Cpni panel to see what I could learn. I realize these tests are not considered accurate. But I was curious & had the opportunity ... so why not?

The panel included C. trachomatis, C. pneumoniae & C. psittaci.

Both the C. trachomatis and C. psittaci results came back normal reference range and said "ANTIBODY NOT DETECTED".

However the C. pneumoniae came back marked high on two fronts.

IgG  1:512 H   (reference range: 1:64)

IgA   1:64  H    (reference range: 1:16)

IgM <1:10

Interpretation = PAST INFECTION

Bactrim - affects which CPN LifeCycle?

Can someone please tell me which life cycle of CPN  Bactrim affects? I know it's somewhere here on the site, as I believe I used to have a chart bookmarked that listed what specific ABX affected the different lifecyles of CPN.

I'm battling with either BV or bladder infection (didn't start until I pulsed) and have enough Bactrim DS to treat; BUT, since I just finished a pulse (that hit me pretty hard) I don't want to do another one, LOL, if it affects the cryptic formi of CPN....  It's becoming increasingly uncomfortable and I should probably go to the doctor; but I really am thinking my pulse is what triggered it.
