Update added FIR sauna & moving along slowly.

We got our FIRi sauna set up last weekend and I have been eagerly but cautiously using it for 10 min. at the start of my day after drinking water to hydrate first thing. Probably the most interesting result thus far is it restarted the eye burning, sneezing, bronchial irritation with resulting cough. These are all at minor degrees but nevertheless it is a direct response to using the sauna I believe as nothing else has changed in  my environment. The heat from the sauna feels soothing on my sore back and shoulders but causes some itching and then later in the day they ache again especially at night. But less so than on the MPi and prior to starting the NACi, supplements, etc.

Chronicles of a Rifampinaut: Pulse 24

Day 2 of pulse 24.  Nothing remarkable to report, the pulse is going much the same as most of  my prior pulses have gone.  I have a bit of heaviness and burning in my legs but otherwise feel about the same as I did before the pulse.  This being the second day, that could easily change come Monday when the work week begins again, as does my work schedule.

I stopped INHi about three weeks ago and have been having less inflammationi.  What I had before made it really difficult to function on some days, I just wasn't able to get around the way I was before INH and since getting off of it.  I think the combination of abxi was just too much.  I even did two pulses while on continuous INH.  Better to scale back a bit.

B- vitamins

I just started my B complex and B-12 supplementsi and im finding that its restoring a ton of energy I lost before the sickness. I also started magnesium and flax seed oil. VERY BENEFICIAL!! as well.

I was thinking about trying to take Echinacea to boost my immne system but I heard you shouldnt take it if you have a auto immunei disorder. anyone have any thoughts on that?

vitamin C

Dr. Pauling says we should take at least 18,000 mg of vitamain C daily. I have heard that a long time ago before antibioticsi they used to treat dieseases with high doses of vitamin C. up to 300,000 mg's a day. of course that kind of expensive but I take about 40,000 milligrams day with my antibiotic regiment and it helps a lot.  I recommend  taking as much as you can.

What to do

So it's been almost four months of being on the capi and I am starting to feel a little better, less sore, still have headaches but not everyday, and still tired.  I continue to get a die off rash here and there and I still have a few sinus problemsi.  I went to the dr.yesterday for a check up and he told me he wants me to start my first pulse on the first and then start coming off all the abxi.  Isn't that kinda soon?  When he first put me on it he said it would be for a year and now all of a sudden he's changing his mind without even running more labs.  What should I do?

An Old-fashioned Pulse

Six days after surgery for double mastectomy in Jan, 08, I "did a pulse", thinking since I would be out of action for a while, I wouldn't waste time doing nothing. Boy, did I get the pot stirred! I think all the flagyli went straight to the surgical site - and I understand that cpni bugs are found in cancer cells. I don't know if this is common, but maybe the experts can comment. In my last blog I mentioned that I am the third known case on our site of this kind of cancer (DCIS or a close cousin), and have since learned of at least three other stage four cancer cases of close friends or relatives of members.

It's a Summerdale Gold Kind of Spring...

With Springtime finally here and things going so well for me I thought it was about time for an update. Since the inclusion of Prilosec OTC and Calcium Pyruvate six weeks ago I have improved tremendously! I also added in Inositol and Ribose, and have doubled the Norwegian fish oil caps to support my nervous system while I discontinue antidepressants. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop but here are the changes: 1. Able to successfully discontinue Wellbutrin XL 2. Able to tolerate Flagyli pulses now [timely and full dose] 3. Able to tolerate 600mg NACi daily[first time since I began CAP] 4. Beginning to gradually reduce Zoloft and Trazadone 5. No more strep-throat type neck aches, etc 6. Previously chronic low grade temp. is now a RARE event

Azithromycin Dosage

i'm curious.  the consensous here for zithro dosage seems to be 500mg.  well, when my old physician initially treated my infectious cause she prescribed zithro 500mg qdi (daily) along with doxyi 200mg qd for 3 months.  well, after about 3 weeks on this dosage my stomach pain were inbearable!  i now realize it was the DAILY 500mg of zithro that did the damage.  needless to say,  i stopped and it wasnt until i found this site that i decided to start treatment again (about 6 months later).  i started back up with 500mg zithro MWF along with the doxy.  well, after seeing Dr.

Calcium Phosphate, Di-Calcium Phosphate, Magnesium Stearate - all in the supplements - ok with abx?

Paula pointed out to me today, that many of the supplementsi she is taking including, Vit C, NACi, Folic Acid">i, etc contain the above.

I know that you shouldn't take any minerals near to the Antibioticsi, is it ok to have supplements with the above in????????

Chronicles of a Rifampinianaut vol. 5: So Begins the Age of INH

WinkYes, I broke into my stash of INHi from last fall and took my very first dose of INH tonight with my second dose of Rifampin for the day, hence the Rifampinianaut. Isoniazid is the full name of INH and I just couldn't bring myself to label myself the Rifampiniazid. Of course, if one want's to be completely accurate, I would have to also work in Doxycycline, Azithromyocin, N-Acetyl Cysteine, and Metronidazolei. Hmmm....the Metroxyzithricetylfampiniazid, lol!!! O-kee, D'O-kee, I think not, lol

Comments on CAP variations from Dr. Michael Powell

I asked Dr. Powell to comment directly on concerns that have been mentioned over time as to whether he uses the CAPi with his new patients. I received his response a number of weeks ago but have had no time to put it together in a cogent context. But continued posts on these questions has mobilized me to get his comments to our readers here. But context is, as we say, everything.

Long Term Benefit Questions

hey everyone...  first, i am still a little confused as to if i should post a blog or comments...  whats the difference?  i am still trying to get use to navigating this site...  i do appreciate all the feedback..

What to take for depression associated with CFS?

I need any information anybody can give me on overcoming depression associated with CFSi. I am currently taking 40 mg/ day Nortriptyline, 300 mg/day Wellbutrin, 75 mg/day DHEAi. I'm on a lot of anti-oxidants too.

Still experiencing moderate to severe depression. Most days, severe depression. What will help? Anything? Does Vitmain D help? I have to hold down my full time job and the depression (along with the fatigue) is REALLY taxing me and my motivation and could cost me my job if I can't find something to help.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Lynn
