Antibiotics to be available without prescription

This is the news:  In England, possible antibioticsi to be sold over the counter, to treat CHLAMYDIA!

This is the story form http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2008/aug/06/health<

Oral antibiotics are to be made available for the first time without doctor's prescription under guidelines approved yesterday by the medicines regulator.

A pill to treat chlamydia, the most commonly diagnosed sexually transmitted infection, will become available for purchase in pharmacies across England later this year.

Adding Doxy

So far, the CAPi (doing the Wheldon protocol) is well tolerated. (Thanks to my liver and kidneys before I go to sleep).

So I´d like to add another 100 mg Doxyi. The protocol says  twice a day. Does it make any difference , to take it at once? This would be easyier for my plans.

At the moment I´m only taking 600mg Pyruvate , but my last bloodtest showed that the calcium is too high .

Any suggestions?

Thanks to those who will post.

Case of Chlamydia Inhalation (Source Cattle)

History :

Following inhalation of particles in a tunnel in 2003-july (transport of several trucks of cattle preceded my car) I had a feverish state (starting same day) which lasted 4 days (no temperature, just important cold sweat) + drip syndrome (started not more than 1hour after exposure).

Dental Abcess & CAP

Paula is being seen by a dentist today because of a tooth abcess she has.  It is possible that the dentist may recommend a course of Amoxi.  If so, would you advise Paula stops the NACi during the course of Amoxi to stave off doubling the die-off effects of the CPni EBs?

It's a Summerdale Gold Kind of Spring...

With Springtime finally here and things going so well for me I thought it was about time for an update. Since the inclusion of Prilosec OTC and Calcium Pyruvate six weeks ago I have improved tremendously! I also added in Inositol and Ribose, and have doubled the Norwegian fish oil caps to support my nervous system while I discontinue antidepressants. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop but here are the changes: 1. Able to successfully discontinue Wellbutrin XL 2. Able to tolerate Flagyli pulses now [timely and full dose] 3. Able to tolerate 600mg NACi daily[first time since I began CAP] 4. Beginning to gradually reduce Zoloft and Trazadone 5. No more strep-throat type neck aches, etc 6. Previously chronic low grade temp. is now a RARE event

JUST started CPN protocol

wow, i dont know where to really start without saying HELLO first.  its been a LONG 8-10 years of being sick, seeing MANY physicians, and thousands of $$$ later before i really have some what of a guide to getting well.  to just give you a BRIEF summary of my illness, i worked for a poultry processing plant for >10 years and @ the time did NOT think it would cause such heartache, but in a educated hindsight, it created my current condition.  prior to working there i was ENERGETIC and full of life.  well, because it was SUCH a subtle deterioration i didnt put my finger on the enviornmental toxins until 2-3 years ago.  some of the few things i contracted while working there was eczema, asthmai, fatigue, brain fog, dry skin (my skin had always be sooooooo oily) among other things.

Most mild CAP protocol in terms of side effects & die-off?

I started CAPi with Minocycline 100mg x 3 + Rifampin 300/day only to stop it due to huge reaction. My dr was thinking in the lines that's one of the abxi causing side effects, perhaps the Mino. Soon I re-started only with Doxycycline 100 mg x 2/day. At first it was OK but I had abdominal pain, aggravated hypertension">i, hypoglycemia and porphyriasi again and by 10th day it was too severe for me to continue. I mean, I felt like it was life-threatening at the time.

I stopped Doxy a week ago yet still haven't recovered completely. Today I feel that like I was hit very hard on a head but a bit better in general.

Amoxicillin & NAC

Hi,

After Paula has taken her 14 days of Ivermectin in the new year, she will start on the Amoxicillini 500mg twice per day.  By then she will also be on 2400mg of NAC.

She has a 2 month supply of Amoxy.  It was suggested in an earlier post that maybe the doc has perscribed Amoxy, knowing she is already taking NAC, to give the EBi's a big kick where it hurts!

Paula would rather not take the Amoxy full time because there will be enough die-off of good bacteria with the other abxi's that she will be taking eventually (even with taking acidofilus).

So I have two questions to ask:-

1) Should we continue the Amoxy after this two month course (We will be taking the 2400mg NAC every day anyway)?

Betwixt 19 and 20...now what??

I have been counting the days since pulse 19 and waiting for some sign of improvement to indicate when pulse 20 should commence, but no such luck. The myalgia/inflammationi set in within 3 days of starting #19 and has remained firmly entrenched. Advil round the clock helps a bit. Pain has cropped up in surprising places: neck, shoulders, tight, ropy spinus erectus muscles have been the name of the game making ambulation so trying that I have found myself in tears just attempting the simplest things. I think I feel worse than I did two weeks post pulse. I admit some of it must be posture-related as I have been too tired to do much. I can be tough about this, but I fear another pulse may just worsen things further?? Am I wrong? -kk2

Finally....a Real Breakthrough!

Posting now after increasing my Amox and adding LDNi to my regime...I have successfully gotten past the LDN-related "cement legs" and yet the improvements just keep coming. The Amox. has definitely reduced knee swelling and related pain. My left knee is now about the same temp as my right--a first. I can stretch further which feels almost strange--imagine muscles as tight as thick rubber bands able to be coaxed beyond previous comfort limitations. The LDN has taken some getting used to[initial increased spasticity], but am sleeping way better than before AND my initiative to conquer daily 'chores' has drastically improved. So I could just say that my energy is better, but it's the desire to accomplish things that I have noticed.

Pairing the CAP with LDN: A New Beginning

Update: I have increased my Amoxicillin to 1GM twice daily, also splitting my Doxyi doses to twice daily instead of all at once. I believe that the increase in Amox has allowed me freer breathing in both nostrils[new improvement] and my hearing is better. I noticed the clock ticking yesterday and I do not think I have heard that in over a year! I have lost 30 lbs since June through a steady effort of avoiding sugar, and the kitchen for that matter. I have found a less fattening way of preventing stomach upset with all these pills I take. An apple or half a banana beforehand seems to work. No more pb&j.

Antibiotics and antimicrobials; tablets vs capsules when available and generic vs brand names

My question primarily is from a user perspective, regarding the cost/vs side effects  of purchasing brand name capsules vs tablet forms when there is a choice.

Cost seems to often be in favor of the tablet form.

For those with no stomach distress with the capsules, seems either might be fine.

For those with stomach respsonse to the capsules (such as myself) I have now realized that I do have a choice of the tablet form,

as well as a higher priced choice of another brand name Doryx that is reported to have less stomach response symptoms. Reported to be newer and more costly than either the tablet generic or the capsule generic.

Help I am so confused

I am still trying to get a grasp on Chlamydia Pneumoniae, I just found out on 4-11-07.  But I have been sick for awhile  Cry.  I am just starting Antibioticsi again......eeeeek Foot in mouth.  My symptoms have been sinus infectionsi and uppper respitory infections , Phlaringitis, Broncotitis, Asthmai.  In and out of the Dr. office the month of April, and my throat swelled shut I could go on and on.  I ended up at an Infetious disease Dr.
