the here & now...is, what it is

It has been some time since I have updated my blog so here goes.  What to say???, breath, wind me up &&& …. I have been disengaged on the site as I just haven’t had the mindset to handle the stress.  I apologize for this as I know that my support has made a difference to some.  I found myself reading the posts and was getting stressed out & frustrated with it all.

Lightly Hammered

Thirteenth pulse of metronidazolei (1,500 mg/day) plus Isoniazid (300 mg/day) completed today.  Since about pulse seven I've felt "energized" during the pulse and have had little post-pulse reaction.  This pulse was different with reaction (lethargy, confusion, pain in various areas) starting two days into the pulse.  I'll keep you posted on the post-pulse reaction.

Cautiously conceding I may have been right...

When I was in surveying class, the instructor described the process that one should follow as: "We complete the field work, take our measurements, do the computations and then try everything we can think of to prove ourselves WRONG.  Failing that, we cautiously concede we may be right."

I don't know that I've done everything to prove myself wrong, but I'm going to cautiously concede that the decison to add the amoxicillini was right.

I've been on antibioticsi for 12 yrs (minocycline) did a great job until 2 yrs ago- started doxyi with pulsed zithro 1 week of the month and flagyl 3 days of the week starting this june- been hutring ever since. any suggestions?

Following my own advice - sort of

I have blogged several times suggesting that people (like me) who are doing the CAPi on their own stick religiously to one of the protocolsi until they had enough experience with it to know how they were going to react and thus have a "baseline" for comparison with any changes that they make.

I have followed this advice for a year through 12 flagyl pulses.  Having lamented about the fact that I was not getting the kind of reaction to the later pulses that I got to the earlier ones, I decided to make a change.  Knowing the NACi and Amoxicillini had the same effect on CPni Elementary Bodies, but that Amoxicillin was also effective against other pathogens that might be co-infectionsi, I decided to add Amoxicillin to my antibioticsi.

Metronidazole reaction question

Hi to all!

Usually from what I know so far we should have negative reactions while pulsing metro as a sign that it works. I have done 4 or 5 metro pulses so far and one tinii pulse.

On metro I felt most of the time energized, less fatigue, less muscle pain. But very achey and tired in the mornings.  But on pulse 2(only on pulse 2!) I had burning feet, on pulse 4 I develepoded an urticaria rash over my whole body on the 7 th day off flagyl maybee due to mass amounts of endotoxinsi - I don t think it was due to metro itself. My last pulse was tini and I didn t felt energized at all , just bad, but not a huge reaction.

The Unbroken Circle or: It's the Rifampin, Stupid

Last month I added Rifampin to my arsenal again, after taking it twice a day for sixteen months and stopping it in Jan., 06. A few things have happened since I started Rifampin a few weeks ago. I decided I should set them to paper while I am lucid (so to speak).

2nd flaygl pulse

Hello everyone. I just finished my second Flaygl puls. I went ahead and did a complete 10 days worth. I took the charcoal 2 hours after each time I took a pill. It helped greatly with the depression and nasua. thanks Jim for the charcoal suggestion! I still get a toxic sluggish feeling during the pulse but I guess I cant feel 100%. Im glad im putting down the Flagyl for 3 weeks. Also I did some reseach on Flagyl. Always take the 3 pulses sepreratly.  Also only take the daily required amount off protien. I took a protien shake one day during my pulse and got really sick.

Nothing Fancy This Time

Pulse Number 12 completed on August 28, 2008 and I didn't get a chance to find out what any of the Emergency Rooms looked like.  I'll report more on the die-off aftermath when and if there is anything to report, but so far it has been unremarkable.

I'm stepping off

I have been more debilitated, for a longer continual period of time than ever in my life, since starting the CAPi.

I have been bed ridden almost completely for 6 weeks. I am in pain, I am weak, I throw up almost every day. I finally learn which anti-porphyric and endotoxini measures work best for what, and how and when to take them, when the very measures that are supposed to help me end up making me sicker. I do all the things right so that I don't get side effects -- from anything -- and I am run over and flattened. I should not feel this bad, I'm doing everything not to.

With Apologies to Willie Nelson

On the road again

Just can't wait to get on the road again

The life I love is doin' Flagyl in strange towns

And I can't wait to get on the road again.

Pulse #12 beckons.  In Houston this time.

Blog by Proxy - Brenda

This is an update on/for Brenda. She was being seen by a nueurologist in Charlotte, NC, 2 1/2 years ago when I met her again after a number of years. We discovered that we both had MSi. She had been on ONLY Rifampin and flagyli, and at my urgent request, my doctor, who was taking no new patients, took her. She has been on Doxyi for about a year now in addition to Rifampin and flagyl. She called today to catch up on news and while we were talking about John (farandwide)and his rocky journey, she realized that she had just walked out into the yard to the workers doing repairs on her roof and then walked back. It hit her that she had forgotten her cane!

Chronicles of a Rifampinaut: the war continues at Pulse 26

On the eve of pulse 26, I can't help but reflect on some things that people here as well as in my day-to-day life have suggested to me.  The suggestions have been good, considerate ones, and I recognize that; however, I have decided not to take the suggestions, at least not yet.

What suggestions am I referring to?  I'm referring to the suggestion that I get a cane or a walker.  I refuse, outright, until I have no other choice.  And despite the hell I put myself through, I have a choice, and I choose to fight.

Second Flagyl Pulse

I'm just making notes here...

I finished my second flagyl pulse yesterday. No significant side effects or reaction other than my butt was really dragging towards the end of the week. By yesterday evening I was about to collapse from fatigue. Today I'm so sleepy I can barely hold my eyes open as I type this despite getting a full night's sleep.  Hopefully as it gets out of my system I'll get my energy back like I did a day or so after finishing the previous pulse.

On the positive side I'm surprisingly pain-free today. I'll take sleepiness over pain any time. Smile
