Chronic pain characterized by tender points, sleep disorder, fatigue

Great sleep aid!!!

I have had fibromyalgia since 1995.  Can't sleep, just the twilight sleep so my doc put me on Ambien in 1996.  Been on it all these years.  Doesn't work much now so she took me off of it.  I tried Melatonin">i and 5mg did nothing for me.  I discovered 5-htp and it knocks me out.  I take just 1 - 100mg pill and before I realize it, the tv wakes me up, then I sleep great until morning.  It helps with the seratonin">i which might help with depression too.  I am amazed that it works for me.  I get it at GNC but you should be able to get a good quality anywhere.

4th pulse on Flagyl and feel horrible

I'm on my 4th pulse with Flagyli and am trying to make it to 5 days.  So far, this time I have been taking it for 3 1/2 days and feel horrible.  I'm going to try and take another one tonight and I think that's all I can do this time.  My question is, does anyone just keep taking Flagyl until 5 days are up or do you take it for more than 5 days?  I am having a lot of swelling all over, feel like I've been hit by a truck, achey, etc.  Just like a bad time of fibro.  I've been on capi since October and have only done Flagyl since Christmas.  First pulse, 1 1/2 days, 2nd was 2 1/2 days, 3rd was 3 1/2 days.

Very interesting! I'm not depressed, I'm actually really sick. Really.

I've just finished a seven-day course of Flagyli, and - after warnings from both the doctor and pharmacist to stay away from alcohol - Googled "Flagyl" and "alcohol" and came across this site. Didn't know ether was a virtual support group for chlamydia pneumoniae |(how do you explain that to the uninitiated? I've been asked "sexually transmitted, eh"?)

So this is rather exciting and quite interesting as well. My story is quite a bit like so many I've heard or read about.

my neck makes crunching noises

Hi all.  I haven't written much lately but I'm still here!  I think my last post was "neck pain".  Well I've done a 1 1/2 day, 2 1/2 day and a 3 day Flagyli pulse so far.  I can tell after a fews days off of it that I feel better.  Wow!  My question is this - my neck makes crunching, popping sounds  when I turn my head.  I'm still having neck and shoulder pain (which I've had since 1996 with FMS) and am using lidocaine patches when I can to take the edge off (recommended by someone on this site - thanks).  There is one really painful spot on the side of my neck that nothing will get rid of.  It does feel like it's in a muscle though.  I went to a spine doc and he said if it didn't get better that I would need a ct scan because it might be a vertebrate problem.  I thoug

Still Fighting to Take 3rd Abx. Stopping Biaxin for 1 month.

Well, it's been so long since I've posted, I'll be surprised if anyone even remembers me.  I've been fighting to get to take Flagyli (or similar) and my doc wanted me to take pyruvate and then take rifampin off and on (but not take flagyl).  I wasn't up for the rifampin off and on; still terribly confused by his desire to avoid flagyl and pulse rifampin, but went ahead and took the pyruvate.

I  vomited like I had food poisoning and had some other strong reaction on day 9 (or got the stomach flu?) and stopped taking pyruvate temporarily.  I got a similar reaction about a week later even though I hadn't started taking pyruvate again.  My gut instinct is that it was a delayed reaction, but I have no real idea.  I felt really sick and weird for a few days.

Switched from Mino - My Doxy Diary

My Doxyi Diary: 1.17-2.20.09 (I had been on minocycline since Sept. It had caused extremely painful wrists, fingers, shoulders and knees. I needed to see if Doxy would be more tolerable. It appears so far that it is the case for me. I also take Azith M-W-F. Last entry at top going downward to first entry.)

I am in a quandry.  I am concerned I may be developing a resistance to doxyi and/or azith, is that possible? Or could it just be time for me to mix it up?

I am again very ill with severe bronchitis and/or cpni pneumoniae symptoms.  I am almost physically at the point I was in March of 2007 when I was first diagnosed (bed ridden, chest pain, deep bronchial coughing, very weak)  This is about the 3rd episode over the last 6 months (2nd within the past 2 months!)

In all honesty my improvements over the past year haven't been significant, other than a reduction in brain fog and a reduction in my FM symptoms.  As each month passes I keep adding to the mix..... I KNOW that is part of this process -- it just becomes more obvious how infected I must be.

Feel bad today

Felt better Friday and yesterday.  Weather changed yesterday to cold again.  Probably has something to do with how I feel.  Fibro is worse so more ibuprofen.  I've only taken one 500mg Flagyli so far.  My husband is having sinus surgery this week so I plan on trying a full day of 2 flagyl (500mg) and see how it goes after next week.  I take doxyi 200mg a day and azith MWF so I thought I would try the flagyl on a day that I don't take the azith.  Is that what I should do, or should I try to take it for 3 days even if I feel horrible???  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

For the benefit of all of the patient groups involved, doctors must return to the age-old medical principals of correct diagnosis (a) careful history, (b) detailed physical examination and (c) appropriate investigation. As Dr Byron Hyde MD explains:

Fibromyalgia question

This may seem like a really silly question- but how does a doctor diagnose you with fibromyalgia? Or chronic fatigue for that matter. I am just wondering. THansk so much.

My med dosage

Well, I am now taking 1 doxyi (100mg)  in the am with 1 azithromycin (250mg)  and 1 doxy with 1 flagyli  (250mg) at night and seem to be okay today.  I am supposed to take 2 flagyl a day for 3 days and off 2 days, on 3 days off 2 days.  I think my doc is pushing it too fast.  I think I'll just take 1 flagyl a day for 3 days, off 2 days along with everything else.  What do you think???
