Chronic sinus problems

Do I add more drugs?

I saw both my endocrinologist and my CAPi prescriber this week. I have a painful heartbeat that's been bothering me mainly with some movements and deep breaths. So my endo wants me to take Advil in addition to my CAP. My CAP prescriber didn't have any suggestions in that regard but wants me to add Diflucan into the protocol for possible candida issues just b/c I've been so long on abxi.

Right now I am taking Amoxicillini 1000 mg x 2/day, Clarith 500 mg x 2/day, Minoi 100 mg x 2/day, Flagyli 500 mg x 2/day. If I add Advil and Diflucan, would it be too many drugs for my poor liver? On the other hand, I'd like to try something for that painful heartbeat.

Any thoughts? Thanks for any input.

My new dr

My previous LLMD who was my CAPi prescriber moved out of state and I transitioned to another dr in the same practice group. Yesterday was my first appt. I was a bit apprehensive to change the dr but I am happy now I must say.

My new dr has a different approach to the disease in terms of that he treats whole body. If my previous provider just gave me CAP rx, this dr wants to address all my conditions - hypoT, hypertension">i, nutritional issues, wants to check heavy metals as well. He even asked if I have a ObGyn and do regular pap smears.

Can bacterial cryptic form develop resistance to Flagyl?

Yesterday I took my first Flagyli 250 mg, no reaction. Today took 2 x 250 mg and started to wonder, is it possible to develop resistance to Flagyl if taken in small doses? I'll be increasing the dose in future pulses if tolerated. My dr wants me to take 500 mg x 2/day for 14 days a month eventually.

First CAP anniversar, progress report and thoughts...

It's hard to believe but I am on 13th month of CAPi treatment. I started on January 02, 2008, twicked my protocol a little for a couple of months. Since March'08 I settled on Doxyi 200 mg/day and Rifampin 600 mg/day. In Nov'08 Bactrim was added twice a day. 2 weeks ago I switched from Doxy to Minocycline. So, right now I am on Mino + Rif + Bactrim.

need encouraging today!

Today I still feel yucky!  I have been using ampho b nasal wash for years because of fungal sinus from all the antibioticsi for chronic sinus infectionsi!  Now I am on doxyi and cipro and am still having green stuff and funny sinus smell, plus feeling bad.  Doc started me on doxy and then biaxin but I got a rash when I added the biaxin.  Question, I think I'll change from cipro and take 1/2 biaxin and try to work up to full dose again.  What is the difference between cipro and biaxin?  Are they both macrolides?  I've always had to go to my ent for a culture swab of my nose because I've had so many antibiotics that they have to test which one works first.  Has anyone here had chronic sinusitis for years and when they went on this protocol they got better after months of these meds?  I

New to site, need advice

I have started my third try at this CPni protocol. The thing is, I am a disabled Desert Storm veteran and I do not get good healthcare from the VA. (not a big surprise) But I could never find a specialist or afford to get the proper definite testing for CPn. My friend Gary is the one that did ALL the research and I am sort of on my own now and am having trouble getting through the lows.

I am on NACi and vitaminsi along with the typical meds for FMSi, CFSi, and other Gulf War Syndrome type illnesses like TMJ, IBSi, restless leg syndrome, (actually did a sleep study for that one and it is a real disorder) tarsal tunnel, chronic sinusitis.....the list goes on.

the here &, what it is

It has been some time since I have updated my blog so here goes.  What to say???, breath, wind me up &&& …. I have been disengaged on the site as I just haven’t had the mindset to handle the stress.  I apologize for this as I know that my support has made a difference to some.  I found myself reading the posts and was getting stressed out & frustrated with it all.

9/4 - started CAP - OUCH!

Between 24-36 hours after my last dose of SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 otherwise known as Bactrim double strength I felt the tide turn and the infection was rushing back in much too quickly. Fear of what would be if I did not take action. With new found confidence that I CAN take full dose antibioticsi I swallowed my first 50 mg of Minocycline. Gulp and deep breath ... here we go.... Oh my gosh ... what have I done? ha ha ha ( in a diabolical tone) Why does something with such a formidable name as the first above stated antibiotic have less reaction than a silly little dose of Minocycline?

I'm stepping off

I have been more debilitated, for a longer continual period of time than ever in my life, since starting the CAPi.

I have been bed ridden almost completely for 6 weeks. I am in pain, I am weak, I throw up almost every day. I finally learn which anti-porphyric and endotoxini measures work best for what, and how and when to take them, when the very measures that are supposed to help me end up making me sicker. I do all the things right so that I don't get side effects -- from anything -- and I am run over and flattened. I should not feel this bad, I'm doing everything not to.

If Lyme can be caused though having a root canal done -as it is said by the Doctor Steven Harris, M.D, in the conference he presented - the link given here by lifeontheice<: and now I read in the website healingdaily an article called “Should you have root canals? Where they talk about this Doctor, expert in root canals, who then found that this “repair in the tooth” might be the biggest cause of bacteria in the mouth and then the body. The article says:

Antibiotics to be available without prescription

This is the news:  In England, possible antibioticsi to be sold over the counter, to treat CHLAMYDIA!

This is the story form<

Oral antibiotics are to be made available for the first time without doctor's prescription under guidelines approved yesterday by the medicines regulator.

A pill to treat chlamydia, the most commonly diagnosed sexually transmitted infection, will become available for purchase in pharmacies across England later this year.

Slammed in the head!

As I write this today I am not fully recovered but will try my best to convey what my latest experience involved. Am writing this with my right eye closed as a matter of fact. So anyway ... what I want to write about in my blog today is reflective of years of chronic illness that I merely pushed off as hormonal induced migraines that we women had to bear in life. Of course ... I think I know better now. Not that hormones cannot play a role in this illness but that I know the true instigator I believe.

Hope everyone gets the answers that are looking for, and the needed support; this thanks to you guys making this site possible for all of us!!!

It's marvelous!
