Wheldon Protocol for rrmsii since Oct '05.  Added LDN 4.5mg qhs Oct '07.  All supp's.  Positive IGGii's for Lyme Disease,Babesia, & Erlichiosis Sept. 2008.  Currently:  Mepron 750mg bid and Azithromycin 250mg qd for Babesia.

Interesting study. However,

Interesting study. However, they're ignoring the important fact that MSi is primarily a neurodegenerative disease, most likely induced by our favorite infectious agent, and the demyelinationi is secondary. Nonetheless, this may be important if they can get the oligodendrocytes to come back and support neuronal regrowth.

In case any of you are

In case any of you are wondering what this study really is, here's the beginning of the article...

Antibody leads to repair of myelini sheath in lab study of multiple sclerosis and related disorders     Mayo Clinic researchers have found that a human antibody administered in a single low dose in laboratory mouse models can repair myelin, the insulating covering of nerves that when damaged can lead to multiple sclerosis and other disorders of the central nervous system.

Sounds promising. I hope

Sounds promising. I hope the mouse results translate well to people-results!

  This is one of several

This is one of several trials that are going on, concerned with remyelinationi.  Many people who have had MSi for a long time could benefit, because even once the pathogen has been got rid of, some damage will still remain.  An unmyelinated axon will not work nearly as well as a properly insulated one..........Sarah

An Itinerary in Light and Shadow...........Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still slowly improving and no exacerbation since starting. EDSSi was 7, now 2, less on a good day.

Re myelination: please

Re myelination: please correct me if I'm wrong, but at a certain point isn't the axon itself damaged? My understanding, dim as it is, is that in ppmsi there is no problem with inflammationi but direct damage to the myelin sheath and eventually to the axon.
