Study: NADPH Oxidase 2 and Cathelicidin Expression

From what I have read NOX (nitrogen oxide)is the over all heading for many variations such as nitric oxide.

From the study you posted, I gather that NO helps aid cathelicidins to mount an effective immunei response?

Hi Raven,

Apparently, at least according to the findings of the study above...

Here's more info on NADPH Oxidase as well:

Treatment for Rosaceai<

  • CAPi:  01/06-07/07
  • High-Dose Vit D3, NACi:  07/07-11/08
  • Intermtnt CAP, HDose Vit D3:  11/08-01/09
  • HDose Vit D3, Mg, Zn: 01/09-
This is a different NOX. Commonly NOx is a shorthand for mixtures of NO and NO2, but this paper is using NOX as an abbreviation for NADPH oxidase (a protein, not a tiny molecule like NO).

Thanks Norman.
