Still feeling sick. Any remedies or just tough it out?

Well, after 3 days of feeling like I have the flu, with each new day a little better, I thought I'd be ok now, but instead I'm really sick again.  My main symptoms are that my intestines (and stomach) are causing nausea and my skin is showing an allergic reaction because it is showing moving patches of red areas that itch.  If I push in on my stomach area, it dramatically increases the nausea.  I feel very tired and weak, but mostly I can tell it is coming from my bowels.

I can still do 30 jumping jacks if I have to (yes, I did this to see if I could, lol) so I am not exactly totally out of energy (like I used to be with bouts of chronic fatigue) but my bowels and allergic reaction to ???? are making me very sick so much that all I feel like doing is laying down.  I ate lots of blueberry's yesterday.

Is this endotoxini (I'm not taking flagyli yet, but I've been on doxyi and biaxin (like zithi) for a long time now) or porphyriai or am I getting leaky gut or something.

I hate feeling like this and not knowing why.  I had plans to do lots of stuff, and here I am feeling like if I move I'll barf (even though I know I won't as I usually don't.) If I just knew exactly why I feel this sick, I'd deal with it a lot better.  This way, I feel helpless as I don't know what to do to remedy it and I have no clue if it will go away.

I just need to know what to do or take to feel better.  I feel like I have intestinal flu and a skin allergy, but I know I don't have the flu, as flu's don't usually get better and then get worse again the next day when you are taking care of yourself and not pushing yourself.

I don't know how some of you guys work regularly, as if I'd have a hard time going and doing anything today but sitting very still and not moving, and that would take all my effort concentration.  The only way I feel better is to lie down.

Hey Reve, Since arriving

Hey Reve,

Since arriving back home from the winter house, I was thinking "I should just jump on the eliptical trainer for even a few minutes" just because, that is better than nothing.  Due to post exertional malaise & the fact the CPni does deprive our bodies of much needed oxygen, we should be cautious.

Yesterday I was on the eliptical once & already once today, shooting for twice.

Thanks Red for the sauna nudge, I had gotten a bit "wary" of it for good reason - extreme die off issues.  But, now that I have the Chitosan supplys up, Emergen C, glucose  & chlorella in the wings, I am going to get in there today.  It is cold here!

Hi Reve, Nausea is a huge

Hi Reve,

Nausea is a huge clue for me  personally now that porphyrin levels are getting out of hand.   Also skin symptoms are another huge warning sign for me, as are IBSi issues, general allergic type responses and lots of hair left in the shower after showering.

Be sure to double down on your anti-secondary porphyriai regimine to see if it helps.  Drink lots and lots of water.   Be sure not to go too long between meals, and avoid foods, drugs, chemicals, etc that might make porphyria worse.

I've also found recently that being more aggressive in my FIRi sauna therapy has helped immensely again.  I was getting kind of lax with it and started noticing increased secondary porphyria.  I bumped it back up to 30 minutes on high each day (combined with drinking lots of water before and after saunaing) and the secondary porphyria symptoms went away again quickly...

Hang in there...

Reve, I'm new to this site

Reve,

I'm new to this site so I don't have the experience of many here.  But, I did have a few thoughts.  As to getting a little better and then worse again.  I've found that this process is not like recovering from the flu where you get a little better and stronger each day in a step wise fashion.  It has been inconsistent for me too.

As to the nausea.  I found the Doxyi. caused nausea if I didn't take it with enough food.  My usual small bowl of cereal just was not enough.  So be sure that you don't take any of the antibioticsi on an empty stomach.  I have felt nauseous during die off and couldn't eat just anything.  Mostly, I just ate the things I could until it passed.

Now, as for exercise, my doc doesn't want any of us on CAPi to exercise.  Cpni uses your cell's energy to reproduce itself.  When you exercise, you use energy that your body needs for healing and producing new, healthy cells.  It adds more stress on your body.  Maybe later we will be able to get back to it.

Reve, I sure hope you get to feeling better.

Your thoughts on the causes of how you are feeling seem about right to me.   My gut is one of my major problem areas and it is getting better, but I'm not going for a walk in the rain as a remedy...

Thanks,  I will try

Thanks,  I will try both.  After eating plain dry oatmeal, taking my vitamins and resting, I decided to do a test.  My body tells me I'm sick and, if I move, I'll get worse, like when you have the flu.  However, I have noticed since starting abxi that even if I feel bad (and especially when I don't) I have the ability to exercise at a moderate rate (or even run) without stopping too soon or having to creep along like a turtle, something that I could not do when I had episodes of feeling fatigue before.  Keep in mind that I don't mean any "real" exercising for any length of time, because I'm out of shape because I have not really exercised for a good longwhile.  Nevertheless, it felt more normal, and like I could progress and perhaps do more.

So, after having done a few jumping jacks and feeling out of breath but not severly out of energy, I decided to take a walk in the rain(with an umbrella) with my dog (who appreciated it.)  As bad as I feel, I could still walk 10 blocks without exhaustion setting in, except for feeling a little extra out of breath and light headed, and my ears started hurting like a was in freezing cold wind (but it is about 70 degrees here), had some odd pains, and my skin turned even more red and really itched, especially on my arms, hands and knees!  Oddly enough the slow steady walking made me feel slightly better (or maybe the oatmeal did).

Anyway, knowing that I still have some energy even though I feel like I don't helps me mentally.  When I got really bad before, I would walk very slowly and then would have to sit down out of breath like I was 150 years old, which was ridiculous because I'm not old.

Therefore, I'm going to tell myself that even though I am not on flagyli yet, I'm having die off reactions and that my red inflamed skin is an allergy to toxin, my stomach/intestine nausea is because I have a big CPN load there, or it is filtering toxin, and that my exhaustion is just my body coping.  It may not be quite right (or it may be) but it sounds as good as anything and it makes me feel like I'm making progress.

I'm also going to start exercising slowly again, something that I've neglected.  I think I read somewhere (probably here) that toxins can be gotten rid of faster by exercising.  Not to mention that it evidently does a zillion other good things for you, especially, I think, if your body IS starting to heal and cope better.  I tried exercising regularly before CAPi, but I just couldn't seem to make progress and kind of gave up for awhile.  Now, if I am getting better, I would hope to see slow but increasing results.

So, besides blueberries, supplementsi, ginger and peppermint, I guess 30 jumping jacks and walking in rain with a dog would be my prescription for anyone who feels nauseated and weak.Wink

I have had the nausea thing, it comes, it goes, it stays for a bit & leaves.  I think I had(have) a big infestation of the CPni in my gut.

I find peppermint helps as well.

Reve I have had some stomach

Reve
I have had some stomach upset and nausea with this also.  It comes and goes.  I have found ginger gum really helps take the edge off.  You can find it at a vitamin store or a natural food store.  There is also ginger tablets that you eat.  I think the name is Ginger Trips.   Hope you feel better soon.

Reve, I have never had

Reve, I have never had nausea so I can only sympathize. When I felt my version of awful, my attitude was (sometimes with difficulty) that "they" felt worse than I did. That gave then and now great satisfaction. I knew by then and in retrospect that I had to go through whatever was going to be dealt. It is amazing what we can survive. I'm really sorry you feel so rotten but I believe it will get better.
