Hi all, We stopped by the hospital and are on the way home to feed and milk. Richard said we need to look at the site since our computer gave no more warning - just wouldn't come on. Thanks, Loulou! We have talked about getting a laptop, but they cost almost as much as the big ones, so it will be some time. I have been checking in to see Jan's white tiger every day - I will miss her. Hi Rica, sorry your 'puter has broken!

Due to my "electric" personality & body, I go through hardrives like crazy, when the laptop doesn't work it goes back to my husband who fixes or makes me a new one.

He buys used laptops from EBay for a good price & then replaces the parts that are broken.  Perhaps in your circle you know a techy who can do this for you as we are spending under $500 for a fully functional, moderately used laptop.

I have teenagers who used to download music and movies. Since I replaced the hard drive, I said, no more. So often these music files are encripted with stuff that will pull operation files from your system when they are deleted. I don't know how segments of the hard drive get damaged, but it has happened twice. So now that I have put these guidelines down, a lot less problems. I am a bit of a watch dog when it comes to the PC. I don't have money to keep repairing. Thankfully, my husband and I are both computer savy and can do most upgrades and maintenance ourselves but that isn't cheap to do.
