recovery?

About 6 - 7 weeks ago, my ability to walk more then 10 feet went out the window. I can't stand for long, can do much of anything that requires leg stamina to do. So I'm here to ask for me and anyone else who might run into this problem, what can I do to remedy the problem. Is there anything or is it just a case where I'm out of luck? Now don't get me wrong, I know there is no magic cure out there. I just wonder what people have done with this sort of problem and whether it might help me to regain some of what I've lost? Thanks!

I know I am broken record.... change one of your antibioticsi.  I thought I remember reading somewhere that minocycline can better cross the blood brain barrier.

Mphs, TN. CFSi, hypoT (Hashi), adrenal fatigue, hormonal inbalance. right arm neuropathy-getting better. cpni, myco, EBVi, CMV, HHV-6. Capi began in 6/07. NACi 2400mg, minoi 100mg bidi, biaxin 500mg bidi. cytomel, flagyli bid continuously.

Hi Sharon

Changing my antibioticsi is something I've discussed with my doctor a number of times and we're pretty settled on using doxycyline rather then switching to minocycline.  I would expect that I would be doing worse on that for a while if I were to switch which I would rather avoid for now since I'm already barely standing upright.

And I, too, am a broken record John, are you doing lots of "moppers"?  Since you are at home and may not have to worry so much about (euphemistically) social disasters, you could hit them hard.  Really, when my legs were full of concrete five years ago and would hardly move even under threats of _____, charcoal - of which I have taken about fifty bottles - eventually made a huge difference.  I still call it "take out the garbage".  I still take it, but at longer and longer intervals - probably only two or three times a month.  My legs ALWAYS let me know it's time.

Hi Rica

Well, even though I doubt that will make any difference at all, it doesn't hurt to try.  Consequently, I went ahead and took 12 charcoal capsules about ten minutes ago with ample water.  I figured it was 2 hours or more since eating lunch and 2 hours or more before evening abxi, and I had the charcoal, so why not?  Thanks!

p.s.

I take about 8 grams of vitamin C every day.  I also take Selenium, vitamin E, L-Carnitine, and probably more moppers every day as well.

I too would change antibiotics. Cpni is one of the cause of MSi but not the only one. I would test myself for as many pathogens as I could and see results. On the net you can read about cases with MS like boreliosis, bartonelosis etc. Different doctors treat with different combination of abxi- Sieveres, Donta, Gasser, Bozsik, etc....I would search lyme webs and read the latest news. I was personaly very helped by ofloxacin and would certainly try combination levofloxacin plus doxyi, which is recommended also by dr. Stratton, but of course I am not in your body and I do not have MS. Everybody is different. But I think you have nothing to loose and 3 and half years should be enough to see at least some results. I am sad, that you had bad luck.

Stratton/Wheldon protocol 02/2006 - 10/11 for CFSi and many problems 30 years

Hi Lala

Yeah, 4 years is a long time.  I thought I would be cured by now but here I am, worse then ever!

I'll give some thought to changing abxi but I once again have to say, it will probably impact me negatively in the short to mid term rather then help me get back on my feet again, which was the point of posting this thread today.
