Richard and I just had a discussion about why neurologists say flatly "MS
i is not an infestious disease" I was getting angry (frustrated) at my RN sister's close-minded refusal to entertain any part of what we are doing here, the Johns Hopkins doctor who distorted his answer into what he wanted it to be, and any other medically-trained would-be god. I asked him how the H. Pylori
i news 25 years ago affected his practice and he said "It didn't". Duh - he's a pediatrician. I said there must have been talk - he answered "Not around me". OK - all possible. But then he said "What do you tell people like that preacher who said "911 happened because there were gays in New York?" That is what they believe - that is their religion.

Rica, its not worth the effort, how can we argue with close minded people? Barry Marshall had to infect himself and wait how many years for his work to be taken seriously..? And just 8 months ago there were doctors in this town who did not know about the treatment for H pylorii, even after all the hype. Luckily for my friend he saw a locum who knew about the treatment....

The Lone Goat There are
The Lone Goat
There are many methods of persuasion, but let me explain 2 of them. Maybe there could even be a good goat analogy to be derived from this.
Trying to convince someone who does not want to accept an opposing position is extremely hard. They are in the spotlight and they have to accept a huge emotional beating to admit they are wrong. But, if you find others who will be more accepting of your position and then surround the naysayer in a non-aggressive manner. The naysayer will more likely test the water in a safe way and find new non-threatening ways to adopt the new way of thinking. I’d not waste my time on doubters when I can increase the overall interest 10-fold with those more open to new ideas. Ultimately the doubters will have to change when the numbers begin to mount up against them. Ken
