problems with site

I am today and yesterday having problems with the site.  18th & 19 december.  The type is on top of other type.  The screen is sort of too wide and the type all squeezed up.  I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.  The rest of my computer seems ok touch loads a wood.  Anyone else?

Hi Po

Don't worry - it's not just you!  Same for me.  I had this problem when the site updated, then it was resolved and all was well, but the problem's come back again over the past couple of weeks.  I've never fathomed whether it's a Window's Vista problem (all is fine on my netbook which is Windows 7) or whether it depends which version of Internet Explorer you're using.

I just keep hoping it all might sort itself again - and in the meantime I'm improving my skill at reading text over other text!!! x

Make sure your browser is the most recent version. Explorer often has ignored current web standards but more recent versions are better in this regard. Firefox works well for the site.

Always a good idea to clear your browser cache and try the site again if having problems, including password and login problems.

Jim, I just read your comment about Firefox ad since I had been having trouble with cutting and pasting anything on IE, I downloaded it.  It seems to work a treat with anything.  Thankyou!........................ Sarah

Jim, here, checking on the site.

If you are using the Rich Text editor you will see two little buttons in the editing window: one with a clipboard and a T; the other with a clipboard and a W. If you are wanting to paste text you have from a word processing document use the T for pasting pure text and the W for pasting something from Microsoft Word. It should keep your formating this way. Worth a try!Cool

I've not used this add-on myself yet, but there is an extension/add-on for Firefox called Lazerus that is supposed to save text from forms (should include comment boxes I would think) in case something crashes. If anyone trys this let us know.

I’ll try this later, but Firefox has vanished that annoying little hand that was stopping me copying anything in IE, as if I was a sixth former  who copied everything for her exam essays without thinking for herself.  Trouble is, I tend to use Word....................... Sarah

I just signed up and hoped by doing so I would be more able to read the comments. Things are piled on top of each other and I can't read the suggestions for how to resolve. Please advise. I really need the support and a user friendly process to access it! Thanks so much.

Moxilla Firefox did it for me too. I added it to my "programs." I pull up "programs " from the start key, click on Firefox, search for Cpnhelp on Firefox,( not my de fault browser,). and voila : no problems . Cpnhelp is CLEARLY visible.

MOM in the sidelines     HI!

Thanks so much! I can now read it.

Thanks for your suggestion Jim.  Unfortunately way over my head - browsers??? lol

Glad these things have worked for others though.  I did find that i could highlight the post and read it quite well.

But guess what this computer illiterate person here just read what browsers were and it said something about doing all this stuff and then refreshing.  So i didnt know what all the stuff was but i just pressed the refresh button at top of screen and hey presto - seems to have worked like magic.  Very pleased with little self.
