Jim’s Story- Chlamydia Pneumoniae and Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia [1]

The Tunnel of Illness

I want to update my story on the front end so readers know even before reading the "agony post" how much benefit I've gotten from the treatment. It is August 26th, 2006. Coming up on two years I've been on the Combined Antibiotic Protocol (CAPi [9]) for Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cpni [10]). A recent forum poster asked if anyone with CFSi [11] has improved on the CAP. My response:

Damned right I'm getting better! When I started the CAP I was in a 2 year slide after 25 years of CFS, then added FMSi [5]. For many years I'd struggled and somehow maintained a semblance of a life. Then over 2 years my pain, brain fog, restricted functioning, etc. slid to a point where I had to stop traveling and could for the first time see the possibility that I would become bedridden eventually.

Methylation [12]

I'd like to have an easy to locate reference for information and thoughts on the application on ways to support methylation for myself and those who also experience unrelenting fatigue both prior to and well into the treatment for persistent intracellulari [14] bacterial infectons.

Some folks are not affected in this way of course and this thread, thank God,  may not be useful or of interest for you.  However energy support is a primary focus for me with CFSi [11] and for others here as well.

As I'm in experimental mode a lot with the CAPi [9], I don't report in often on my own protocol. This is partly because I like to wait a bit longer to see how things play out before posting observations. And partly so that people new to the CAP don't get confused that these experiments of mine are any kind of example! So here's the warning: this is not intended for anyone new to the CAP, and is not a model of anything anyone here should follow! As you will see, I'm not always the best example to follow anyway.

hello to everybody,

I haven´t been on these pages for a while. I have been doing quite well for the past six months, have moved to another city to live with my boyfriend, have found a new job. Everything went on very well and I thought I might be finishing the protocol very soon. I have been on WP for one year and seven months.

Last week I felt sometheing is wrong, I felt tired, than exhausted, than my stomake started to ache. At the beginning of this week we found out we were pregnant. At first from the pregnancy test, than from the doctor. We´re both so happy, but I feel misserable. I am after months so tired again, and am afraid it will be like this all the time.

my observations on Flagyli [38] pulses 7 (july) and 8 (August).  Pulse 7 I did 4 days, pulse 8 I did 3.

Well the patterns continue in their unmistakable way.  From Day 1 of the first tablet to usually 12 days later no major reactions.  Perhaps short-lived or occasionally wiped-outness, but nothing majorly tricky.  Then days 12 - 22 the REAL reaction.  DAY 18 in BOTH pulses were the worst nightmare; just pain, weakness, shock headaches, and overwhelming fatigue.  After around day 22 just feel fairly normal again ...  In all my pulses I have a period of about 3 - 5 days which are the worst, as i said around 2 weeks after day 1.  How strange!  I know we have commented on this delayed reaction many times, but mine is like clockwork now!

I just had a porphyriai [42] attack tonight. Had the warning signs. I have begun exercising again and was delighted to find I could go on the treadmill 5 days last week for 30 mins without fatigue afterwards. I have been swimming daily, working out with weights (starting slowly) and under alot of stress with work. I had a date this weekend (the first in ages) and suddenly started feeling badly: run down, cold body temperature (haven't had for a while), severe episodes of nausea, flu like feeling today.

This is the news:  In England, possible antibioticsi [20] to be sold over the counter, to treat CHLAMYDIA!

This is the story form http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2008/aug/06/health [104]

Oral antibiotics are to be made available for the first time without doctor's prescription under guidelines approved yesterday by the medicines regulator.

A pill to treat chlamydia, the most commonly diagnosed sexually transmitted infection, will become available for purchase in pharmacies across England later this year.

hello folks,

i have been wondering recently about the connection between taking antibioticsi [20] like doxyi [25], roxyi [17] and flagyli [38] - and weight gain.

i have been doing the wheldon protocol for about 10 months now and have gained about 15 pounds for no particular reason.  if anything my appetite/food intake has slightly diminished and my activity levels slightly increased.

has anybody got anything to say about this - either nay or 'vrai'!  i remember i think Dr Wheldon saying he lost some weight, but one or two others have reported weight gain.  its not a development i have relished i'm afraid to say, though it may be something i have to accept (at least just for the time being?)

Question:  Does anyone know of any sites that list MD's that treat Adrenal issues?  Or any good sites in general for adrenal issues.

I know about Stopthethyroidmadness.com (which has an adrenal section), but am looking for a site specifically about adrenals and MD's who treat adrenal issues.

Sites like thryoid-info.com list MD's in every state who treat thyroid, so I'm hoping there is a similar site for adrenal issues.

I really need to see someone who will do the right tests for adrenal functioning as I'm sure my adrenals are totally fried and I think they are contributing to my awful reverse sleep.

My current CFSi [11] MD is less than cooperative with this for some reason.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I know that the reason for a blog is so when things are getting a bit better, you can look back to how bad things were.

Or, when things are going bad, you can look back to how worse things used to be.

This is my reason for this post.

Paula doesn't like me "airing my dirty laundry in public", but when she is better that's when she can tell me off for doing it.

The way I see it, this blog is for both of us.

Is it definately the case that certain foods like cabbage can increase porphyrins?  What has been everybody's experience with this?

If this is the case i cant understand how it would make a difference to secondary porphyriai [29]

Thanks

Hi everyone,

After a suggestion from dr. powell, i decided to spend my 'economic stimulus' check on the genetic methylation panel from amy yasko's website. i went into it not expecting anything, but thought it would be helpful to know exactly what i am dealing with in terms of my dna. really i was just too curious NOT to get the test done, so i went with it.

I was wondering if anyone here did not start with the supplementsi [98] before beginning the protocol?  How important are they?

Also I have Chronic Fatigue and feel tired and rotten 90% of the time.  I can't imagine feeling worse but apparantly with the endotoxini [113]/cytokinei [114] reactions it can get worse.  Has anyone here not been able to work due to the reactions they've had?  I'm afraid that I won't be able to work at all.  I work only part time as it is because I can't handle more than that.

All responses are appreciated!!!
