I just got back from a half hour bike ride. I finally got the nerve to exercise without using my inhaler beforehand. I got a good workout, making sure I was breathing heavy the whole time to give my lungs a good test. They work! I made it through the entire 30 minute ride without my chest tightening up. No coughing and wheezing! Just normal heavy breathing from exertion but without struggling for air. Six months ago I would have been wheezing and coughing up a storm within 5 minutes of trying that. It felt so good to have air free-flowing in and out of my lungs and know it wasn't the albuterol making it possible!

After the workout I did feel a little like my breathing wasn't recovering as fast as it should but it was mild so I'm not sure it wasn't just psychosomatic because I was so focused on my breathing and so concerned that any minute I was going to tighten up. (Or maybe I'm just that out of shape! LOL) In any case it was a huge improvement from before I started the abxi [1]. I'll test my lungs again on my next bike ride.

I think I read on that asthmastory.com site that he felt significant improvement after 4 months on abxi [2] but it took a full year before his lungs functioned as well as they did before he got asthma. So after just six months on abx (and still not on the full CAP) I am hopeful there is still more improvement to come.

Oh yeah, the other improvement: My asthma used to sometimes cause me to wake up at night congested and coughing. This usually happened 1-2 times a week. I have not had that happen for at least a couple months now.
