I have been noticing that when I start to feel run down I develop a white coating on my tongue and also a line of what looks like fungus in the middle of my tongue. It is raised and I can feel it on my tongue. I noticed this in my 20's when I first had episodes of minor fatigue and thought it might be thrush. Always a small line that came and went within a week or so. Could this be a yeast problem? I am about to add Rifampin to the the mix and was curious if anyone else out there gets episodes of white coating on tongue and a raised line in the middle. Thanks for any input! Chris

I do have a coated tongue

I do have a coated tongue at times but there is no particular pattern to it.   It is usually better after a pulse, so maybe something to do with candida.   I also have had all kinds of lump and bumps come up on the side of my tongue, some of them very itchy... How do you stratch your tongue?

In the book You are What you Eat there are some explanations about why tongue coatings may be happening.

Let me know PM if you want me to quote from the book or check it out on EBay & get a copy, it is a good one imhoi [11].

Myco, I had that happen

Submitted by MacKintosh on Wed, 2008-07-09 10:08.
Myco, I had that happen once about ten years ago. Clueless about the cause, I started sucking on vitamin C tablets, letting them 'melt' on my tongue. It stung and wasn't exactly pleasant, but in a day or two it did disappear. I remember the line as kind of a divide, or valley, in a forest of white fuzziness on my tongue.
