Hello everyone. I hope everyone is doing well and having progress in there treatment. As for myself I am actually quite scared. I was making great progress and im about to start the flagyli [1] here soon. but here is the story. As you know I got sick back in October. I started feeling better after a couple months ttreatment of doxyi [2] and zithro and then I had sex with my wife. The next day I felt like I was going to die. My wife got a full general std panel along with me and it all came back negative. so then it was the scenario with the doctors again with no answers but then I started the Wheldon protocol in May. Me and my wife did not have sex again until last night but now I am very sick again.  I have done some extensive reading in the past and know that most doctors do not test for myco, or ureuplasma, or cpni [3].  Im positive both of us have and still are faithfull and know that illnesses can be spread from coughing and saliva not just seman.  I sat down with my wife and she is going to get some extensive testing done. but I just dont get it. even if she tests postive for one of these bacterias the treatment is going to be long and drawn out for her. but how can she be a carrier for so long and not know it??.  I really dont know what to do. I feel as though I should quaritine myself forever.  I dont know if me and my wife will ever have sex again. Its too scary for me. I hope I dont get worse again. right now im having flu like symptoms like I did in the beginning and the nasua is terrible. I pray to God im not reinfected with a new infection. Please if anyone can lend me some advise becuase cpn and its close relatives are so tricky in spreading and I dont know whats going on with my wife becuase she feels fine. and if she goes on antibioticsi [4] how long do we have to wait before having a sexual relationship.

Hi!Sorry but dont have

Hi!

Sorry but dont have answers to all of your guestions.

But one thought is that nasua can be secondary porphyia symtoms. Porphyriai [7] also gets worse when you exercise or are to active.

I experienced that my self one day when I took a to long walk outside. The next day I had nasuea and spent some days inside.

When we have this infection we should not exercise or be to active.

We need the energy to get well.

The infection can also get worse if we exercise.

So be carefull and read about and take your porphyria moppers and see if it helps.

Hope you feel better soon!

Take care,Maria

Hi Lee, I am wondering

Submitted by Louise on Tue, 2008-07-01 16:23.

Hi Lee, I am wondering where you are in the progression of your CAPi [8].  Dates of start of each of the meds give us some immediate information about your treatment. Please go to my account and add a signature it will be helpful to those that give you feedback.

I am thinking about Maria's answer and the fact that  porphoria does make me ill in so many ways, particularly during the early die off phases of treatment.    Take a look at this page on the site    http://www.cpnhelp.org/reactions_and_remedies [9]

An infection would take longer to transmit back and forth to feel so awful as a rusult in less than 24 hours if that could happen.

I am wondering more about the athletics of the event as the precipitating cause?  Could you say in what ways you feel so awful with more descriptive of the subjective complaints?  Then those complains could be compared to the porphoria symptoms in the getting started pages from the tab at the top of the webpage.

Anyway that is how I would begin to sort it out for myself if I had an unusually sudden surge of feeling awful.

Again would really like to have a signature to use to remember where you are in treatment.

And more info about the ways in which you feel bad.

I am trusting that you will get this sorted out and get all of your life back.

Louise

You can stop blaming

Submitted by Andesine on Tue, 2008-07-01 16:28.

You can stop blaming yourself. Cpni [3] (Chlamydia Pneumoniae) is spread by coughs and sneezes not by sex AFAIA.

Lee - There are both fairly

Submitted by Daisy on Tue, 2008-07-01 16:21.

Lee -

There are both fairly harmless and very harmful infectionsi [15] your wife could be carrying that when your body receives a fresh innoculum could cause your overtaxed system to rebel and for you to then feel bad.  Viral, Bacteria, Fungal, etc... Finding out what it is can often be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Also - women are generally more asymptomatic than men with most of these types of infections - until it's too late and then they end up with all sorts of pelvic inflammatory issues (PID).

Not a popular solution but one you could use to test the theory would be using condoms next time and limiting exchange of other bodily fluids.

Thinking about it, when you

Submitted by Andesine on Tue, 2008-07-01 16:27.

Thinking about it, when you have sex your blood pressure goes through the roof, everything is pumping round your body like crazy (well it does if you're doing it right Wink) so it's hardly surprising you feel ill afterwards.

Sounds like it might be time to practice some celibacy especially once you're on the Flagyli [1]. Give your body time to heal then try it again once the pulses aren't knocking you sideways.
