Big red blotches

I get large (1 inch) to small blotches on my arms.   They just appear; there has been no trauma to cause them.  They come and go.  They don't hurt; just ugly.  After a few days, when they start to go away, I notice a very small pin-size hole which I once scratched off which caused bleeding.  My GP said they were caused by thin skin.  My father had them -- he was 93!!  His arms were nearly coverd. They started around the time I started the CAPi [1] but I have no idea if there is any association.  I don't think this is Cpn related -- and I didn't even know where to post it.  This is just bothersome, tiresome.  Just wondering if anyone knows of these.  (wish this was the worst thing I had)  Thanks for reading and any comments.
