Some people mentioned taking charcoal. However on my NACi [1] bottle is says very clearly: Avoid taking NAC together with charcoal containing supplementsi [2]. Can someone please explain why you folks seem to be quite happy with the stuff in spite of the warning?

Someone who can speak to
Someone who can speak to this authoritatively will come along, but in the meantime I will contribute my layman's opinion. Charcoal absorbs most everything so taking it NACi [1] (or other supplementsi [2]) would just end up with the charcoal absorbing the NAC and not the toxins it was taken to scavenge. I think most of the people on this site take their charcoal several hours removed from when they take the antibioticsi [4] or supplementsi [5]; there have been some posts by people talking about how difficult it is to get the timing right so that the antibiotics are taken separately from the supplements that might interfere with them and separately from the charcoal. In my case, I typically take my charcoal at about 3:00 a.m. when my nocturia wakes me up and sends me to the bathroom. Lately, I've been sleeping through the night so I'm having to reassess that plan, but it does allow for several hours between the NAC and the charcoal.

He's got it. You can take
He's got it. You can take nothing but water with charcoal or it loses it's effectiveness as well as absorbs your nutrients. People typically take it mid morning, mid afternoon, at bedtime if they take no meds then, or as HD when they awaken at night.
