Cesare, my prescription says to take three capsules a day, but I only take 1 a day now that I am further along in my treatment. It can increase bowel movements at the higher dose. Urosodiol should not appreciably effect your antibioticsi [1] as its mechanism of action is by reducing cholesteroli [15] synthesis and secretion and it alters bile composition.   It doesn't so much "absorb" like Questran as it does "thin" the bile.

The package insert drug interactions are

cholestyramine (Questran);

colestipol (Colestid);

estrogens (birth control pills or hormone replacement); or

antacids that contain aluminum, such as Rolaids, Mylanta, or Maalox).

If you are using any of these drugs, you may not be able to use ursodiol or you may need dosage adjustments or special tests during treatment.

Dosing is calculated per weight and doctor preference dependent.
