It's a Summerdale Gold Kind of Spring...
By kitkat2

  • Alpha Lipoic Acid
  • Amoxicillin
  • Azithromycin
  • Charles Stratton
  • David Wheldon
  • Doxycycline
  • Flagyl
  • Folic acid
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • NAC
  • Rifamcin
  • Vitamins
With Springtime finally here and things going so well for me I thought it was about time for an update. Since the inclusion of Prilosec OTC and Calcium Pyruvate six weeks ago I have improved tremendously! I also added in Inositol and Ribose, and have doubled the Norwegian fish oil caps to support my nervous system while I discontinue antidepressants. I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop but here are the changes: 1. Able to successfully discontinue Wellbutrin XL 2. Able to tolerate Flagyli [1] pulses now [timely and full dose] 3. Able to tolerate 600mg NACi [2] daily[first time since I began CAP] 4. Beginning to gradually reduce Zoloft and Trazadone 5. No more strep-throat type neck aches, etc 6. Previously chronic low grade temp. is now a RARE event 7. Spasticity is erased, at least temporarily, by pyruvate 8. I have some energy and motivation, enough at least to finally get together with a couple gallons of Benjamin Moore "Summerdale Gold" and paint the foyer and hallway. What's on the horizon? A 5-day trial Rifampin pulse which I am hoping may pave the way toward the next phase of the CAP. I am a bit nervous about the Rif., but right now things are looking golden. -kk2 :)

kk2,  That's fantastic

Submitted by cypriane on Thu, 2008-04-03 13:50.

kk2,  That's fantastic news!  The only disappointment is that I thought Summerdale Gold was going to be beer, not paint.  You've worked so hard and have been so patient and faithful to earn this reward.  Now, it's finally your turn.  Congratulations and keep at it,

Thanks Joyce! I wish beer and I could just get along, but no go since this life long infection. But you've given me a cuervo glimmer of hope--maybe when the Cpni [12] is gone, then....? -kk2 ;)

KK2, This is good news...

Submitted by Michèle on Fri, 2008-04-04 05:54.

KK2, This is good news... Ella has been taking Rifampicin for a couple of weeks and is managing OK with it.   She says she feels like she is on a constant pulse when taking it but not as intense a pulse as with flagyl.   She started a pulse yesterday and now it is hitting home... so much so that she is going to cut the pulse short.   So watch out for fireworks when taking both.

David has said in the past that Rifampicin should not be pulsed.   I think Jim told me this was not a problem as long as it was taken in combination with other antibioticsi [22].

  KK2, I thought like Joyce [25]

Submitted by Sarah on Fri, 2008-04-04 07:25.

KK2, I thought like Joyce that Summerdale Gold was going to be beer: a kind of nice, light, drinking in the evening on the terrace kind of beer.

You are suddenly doing so well and I am so pleased for you...........Sarah

An Itinerary in Light and Shadow...........Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MSi [19] in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still slowly improving and no exacerbation since starting. EDSSi [9] was 7, now 2, less on a good day.
