  • Antibiotics
  • Folic acid
  • NAC
  • Supplements
  • Vitamins

Paula pointed out to me today, that many of the supplementsi [1] she is taking including, Vit C, NACi [2], Folic Acidi [3], etc contain the above.

I know that you shouldn't take any minerals near to the Antibiotics, is it ok to have supplementsi [4] with the above in????????

Cheers,

Mark

I'm not really the best

I'm not really the best person to answer this, but I would say that if the amounts are small then it's ok to compromise a little with the rules.

Mark - As Michele says - you

Submitted by Daisy on Wed, 2008-03-19 20:24.

Mark - As Michele says - you are probably okay here.

Just to be on the safe side - you might total up all of the milligrams of minerals that are in each product and then make a judgment call on whether you need to separate them further from antibiotic dosing time (typically two hours).

I was actually shocked when I did this for my husband and ended up changing some of the brands of his vitaminsi [4] to ones that didn't have the added minerals.

Daisy - Husband on CAPi [12] 5/07.  Minoi [16], Roxyi [17], Diflucan round two 1-31, Rifampin, Bactrim DS, Prednisone, Novantrone, Doxyi [6], Azithromycin, Flagyli [13]

Thanks Daisy, The problem is [18]

Submitted by Mark Hall on Thu, 2008-03-20 01:19.

Thanks Daisy,

The problem is that the products don't say how much magnesium stearate etc are in the supplement.  Some of the supplementsi [1] are from Jarrow so are good quality.

Just a thought, if you want

Just a thought, if you want to find out the exact composition of supplementsi [1] you might go look at the suppliers' site.   They often have fuller information than the labels.

When they don't say how

Submitted by Norman Yarvin on Thu, 2008-03-20 11:41.
When they don't say how much is there, that usually means it's minimal. For calcium and magnesium, the amounts required to be significant are large enough that it's hard to fit them into a single pill, so there's no point worrying about tiny amounts.
