We have gotten to be a chummy and even relentlessly helpful website. All to the good, but sometimes we forget some of the basic agreements we have here, so I thought I'd post a commentary to remind us. This is a serious liability and ethical issue, not the least of them being that the site owner could be held liable if someone is harmed by such a recommendation. It is also tantamount to practicing medicine without a license.
