Hi,
I have been suffering from dermatological, pulmonary, cardiac, muscular and other symptoms for over a year and a half. After moving to Rome, GA, a year ago, my symptoms increased dramatically. After visiting many doctors--including pulmonary, cardiac, infectious disease specialists--and trying a few standard courses of antibioticsi, I am only marginally better. The results of almost every single test were negative (including lung biopsy), but my CT scan shows continuing pulmonary nodules. As a result of various factors, a chain a referrals has led me to a dead end and the ID doctor which I saw last will not prescribe me antibiotics. He more or less told me, you have some unknown disease which may or may not be caused by bacteria, but I don't feel comfortable giving you antibiotics because of the reactions you may have or sensitivities that may develop. I got the impression that he felt he wasn't authorized to try alternative treatment protocolsi.
My question is, how can I start looking for a doctor that will treat me according to the CAPi protocol? I have had favorable reactions to Minocycline in low pulsed doses and wish to try many of the combinations of antibiotics discussed on this site and elsewhere. In the meantime, I am taking Vitamin C, magnesium, NACi, and Benicar which I was able to obtain because of secondary chest pain due to "straight back." These have all helped considerably and convince me that I will improve if I can work up from low doses of single antibiotics to moderate doses of multiple antibiotics.
Does anyone know of doctors that are available in middle TN, north Georgia or Atlanta area? (I am from Memphis, TN, and noticed one poster (Reve?) found a doctor there, but from the blog posts it does not seem like a doctor very familiar with the idea behind the protocol.) I am new here, have no connections, and do not know how to go about finding a competent doctor who knows how to treat chronic bacterial infectionsi with antibiotics.
Any ideas? Does Dr. Stratton still see new patients?
Steve

By bumping the post up, maybe we can get you an answer or two. Keep in mind that will be in your private inbox, as we do not post physician info on the public boards.
