Hi Newbie here
I am Daisy and many of you know me from THISISMS. I am going to try to get a blog started over here soon.
I have a quick question for this esteemed group !
Is it the NACi itself that eliminates EBi's or the glutathione that the NAC makes in the body that eliminates EB's?
Thanks!
Daisy

Hi Daisy- It's the NACi
Hi Daisy- It's the NACi itself which breaks the cysteine bonds on the EBi's (Elementary Bodies) of Cpni. It doesn't effect any other form of the Cpn. The NAC which is absorbed by the liver some is probably converted to glutathione.

Jim - Thanks for the quick
Jim - Thanks for the quick response. Very helpful.
I have been giving my hubby transdermal glutathione cream for quite a while but when I actually gave him NACi a week before starting Doxyi 100 QDi he really went south. Even further south on Doxy.
The glutathione cream has been detoxing him for sure - various other reactions but he definitely got NAC flu from just 600mg NAC per day. I skipped much of an intro period for NAC prior to the Doxy because he had been getting the glutathione. Hmmmm...
I now know I need to re-group and go slower... but YAY - who would have ever thought I would be so excited for my husband to experience NAC Flu ... maybe he will be a strong responder to this treatment.

It is ironic to be
It is ironic to be cheered by having strong reactions to an otherwise innocuous agent. But it's good to have a confirmation that something is going on!
