MS vit D and vitiligo

A lady with MS  started with vit D in December 2009. The result was and is very good. She has only one problem. From her youth on she had vitiligo and hands, face and other places. Recently the vitiligo  got worse in the sense that new places with vitiligo started and old ones grew. Is there any relation known between MS, vit D and vitiligo? What would be the advice to do? Thanks.

Hi Andries

But YOU are the doctor!  The position that we all are in and experience daily is what you, briefly, are going through now.  Many doctors seem to think they, since they are MDs, know everything about everything, but you, my surgeon, and David Wheldoni and a few others, have the strength of character to ask if laypeople (us) may have some input.  Refreshing to say the least.

Having said all that, I can only suggest that this, like so many, many symptoms, may improve or even eventually go away with this regimen.  There have been surprises with almost every step - why not this?

Hi Andries, I think I read somewhere here about a connection between cpni and vitiligo. I remember this because I had whiter skin on my cheeks. I was afraid that I was getting vitiligo but this is better now. I searched but I cant find the post now, but if I do I post it here. If I remember vitiligo is what they call a autoimmune illness so for me it make sense that it is cpnrelated.

Best Wishes, Maria

White spots on the skin are linked to cpni. I had that since I was a teenager.

My grandmother on my mother's side had it on her hands and legs. She had atherosclerosis and lost a leg from a gangrene toe. Cpni is strongly connected to atherosclerosis. I have lots of white spots on my arms and legs from Cpn. I read somewhere that lack of copper can cause a loss of pigment also because it is needed to create melanin. Copper/zinc balance is very important as I am finding out lately. Raven
