Let the Sunshine In! pulse 4

Being able to look at the sky without sunglasses is such an amazing blessing that most take for granted. The wisps of color blue and powder white clouds is just beautiful. Okay, I admit I am a dreamer of sorts but given the simplicity of a clear sunny day makes me thankful beyond words. I was able to watch our son during baseball practice which is great in itself. However, I no longer had to look for a smear of color to make out which kid was ours but rather, see his expressions when he smacked the ball into the outfield.  Surprised

I've made strides with out even noticing. Washing your hair in the shower without having to touch the shower wall to steady myself is great but towel drying your hair and playing "flashdance"in the mirror is unbelievable. By this I mean I can flip my hair back from between my knees and not pass out from a head rush. NOW THAT IS PROGRESS!!!!  My veins in my arms are actually visible. No more extra sticks to find a vein, its all there!  My skin seems to be calming down. I actually go with a dusting of powder and it looks great. My pores are able to heal within instead of all the skin congestion that plagued me.

If you visit the Tims web site you will read Kens perspective of "me" but I am comfortable telling you about my "time of the month".  Ladies, you can tell what your body is telling you before, during and after. I have not been having an easy time of this. I seem to have an off cycle every 3 weeks, and spotting along the way.  I see my OBgyn tomorrow and will hopefully have some answers. I have been noticing tooth pain on my right back molars, mostly sensitive to hot tea or ice water I guess. My dentist today did bite wing x-rays and they are cavity free but did coat them with a desensitizing gel. Seemed to do the trick. Wonder if this gel could work on our boys? Yell "Mom, where did my lunch box go"?   I am looking forward to seeing Dr. Sriram at my fup apt in a couple weeks to share my accomplishments. They may seem small, but to me, it’s that one small step into the unknown that has me wanting to play hop scotch! Wanna play?

Kim, the best of life is

Kim, the best of life is made of those tiny but wonderful things that nobody else can see. I am so thrilled for you. One thing - notice them and remember how they were because they may go away. Sometimes they were an anchor for me to hold when everything vanished and I could have said the hateful statement: This is not working! It was, has, and is.

Kim, this sounds like good

Kim, this sounds like good news to me.   The gyne problems may also get better in time with the  CAPi.  Its too late for me to tell, but there is some evidence to suggest that Cpni may be at the bottom of several female problems.

Hah, I can do the hair

Hah, I can do the hair flip thing and I even have photographic evidence, but I' not going to post it!  I had gynae problems for years, though, starting about the same time as my obvious MS, getting much worse at about the same time as the MS became progressive., so if your gynae has no obvious answers I would think on this as one of those up and down messy things we have to go through whilst getting better...........Sarah

An Itinerary in Light and Shadow...........

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MS in June 2007, after nearly four years, three of which intermittent.   Still slowly improving and no exacerbation since starting. EDSSi was 7, now 2, less on a good day.
