Keep reading, keep reading

Its been about 2 weeks on Axithromycin 500mg once a day for two, got CPNi diagnoses in 4-07.  I feel some better I get coughing bouts once or twice weekly and not every day.  I have had one dumping episode and I go back to the Dr. this week for follow up blood test.  I do find the information on this page very helpful.  When I first started reading on this page I was so overwhelmed that  I did not understand much was being talked about, to those who are just starting out like myself my advise is to keep reading and reading.  When I go back to the Dr. I have a list of questions to ask her, because when she first told me of my diagnoses of Chlamydophila pneumoniae I thought do I have a venereal disease of the lungs or pneumoniae in my vagina or what (sorry this is just my sick since of humor) and did not know what questions to ask my mind just went blank.  If it were not for all the information on this page I still would be lost.  I have had bouts (bouts I use for a lack of a better word) with asthmai, bronchitis, pheringitious, sojenors, Rheumatoid arthritis, sinusitis, one after another it seems to go on and on, every time I went to the Dr. the last three years it was another ailment  and I was beginning to think that it was all in my head.  I even found myself in the ER. (on the advise of my internist who wanted me to be admitted) and that Dr. told me that she found nothing, but that my white blood count was very high. (normal is 3-10 and I was at a 15) now to me that is an indication that something was wrong.  By that night my throat had swelled so much that when I went to go lay down my uvula closed my throat shut.   What a night that was.  Thank god I had one Dr. put in a request for me to see and infectious disease Dr.  And got my e-ticket (for those of us who remember the e-ticket at Disneyland years ago) for this ride that I am currently on. I am back to work after being out almost the month of February this year and it seems as I reflect back on it I have been out ill from work over the last three to four years an average of about a month a year.  I am luck that I work for a school district that I am off work the summers.  I am holding on for June.I have downloaded the handbook and still find it a little hard to understand but I keep muddling through it.  I have been having bouts with stomach cramps and general feeling sick. Food seems to make sick to my stomach, and my mind seems to be a little cloudy lately. But I guess this is Gods reminder that I am still alive.  Ha Ha. Thank you every one for your stories etc.....Take care Gloria

Hi Gloria,

Sorry to hear of your illness, but welcome to the site!    Reading and re-reading the handbook will certainly help.   Don't be afraid to post questions either.   Sometimes the answer to a simple question can go a long way towards helping to explain things.

Hang in there...

Gloria- The handbook is a bit more confusing than it needs to be. We are hoping to remedy that, but have to squeeze it in between our own illnesses and pulses! So it will take some time. But even if presented better, we can only absorb so much of a complicated disease and treatment at a time. Especially when we are sick. So your advice is 'da bomb' anyway.
