Initial infection was in summer, 1992; Chronic (overnight) on Dec. 21, 1994.
Steroid (ESI) shots in lumbar spine in 2004, caused pain to increase at least 10X.
Diagnosed with L5 radiculopathy via EMG in 2004. I thought that this diagnosis explained the horrible leg pain, tingling, and numbness.
Diagnosed Lyme, cpni, babesiosus, vasculitisi in Apr., 2007 by Dr. M. in Co Spgs (he closed practice in July, 2007).
Diagnosed with peripheral vasculitis by mainstream PCP in May, 2008.
Please excuse the terrible organization of thoughts and stupid questions. Found this site months ago but can no longer sit at the computer to research.
64 year-old male retrogressing in last few weeks to worst condition. Can barely walk, think, or function in any way. Leg pain, fatigue, and resulting depression keeps me in bed 20+ hours per day.
Found a possible link between cpn and vasculitis:
http://www.walgreens.com/library/contents.jsp?docid=000102&doctype=10
Found possible link between steroids and reactivation of cpn:
http://aac.asm.org/cgi/content/full/48/10/3655
Has the link between Cpn and vasculitis been found?
Has anyone successfully treated vasculitis (caused by cpn) with antibioticsi?
Any cpn Drs. in Colorado (hopefully south of Co Spgs)? (I'm aware of a PA who treats Lyme in Co Spgs)
I now think the peripheral vasculitis combined with the L5 radiculopathy has combined to produce the knee and lower leg pain.
Again, I apologize for not being able to search for answers, but the progression of this condition in just a matter of weeks prevents my doing anything anymore.
Thanks, Dave

Hi S, Are you being treated
Hi S, Are you being treated for Lyme? A Lyme literate doctor is more likely to understand this protocol than others. You could also look here for a Lyme/cpni Doctor. I don't have a name for a doctor familiar with Cpn and the Combined Antibiotic Protocol in Colorado. If you need to explain things to a doctor you might like to read the Getting Started Module (Blue Tab top of the page) it is short and easy to understand.
Cpn is a vascular diseasei and therefore periphral vasculitisi might be caused by Cpn. Cpn clogs up the small blood vessels, resulting in the symptoms you describe.

Hi Michele: Thanks very much
Hi Michele:
Thanks very much for responding.
Yes, the connection between cpni and vasculitisi was what brought me back to look at cpn. Do you know if any mainstream Drs. are willing to use antibioticsi to treat vasculitis which might be caused by cpn? I can't afford another Dr. or any another drugs which are not covered by my insurance policy.
No, I don't have a Lyme Dr. since Dr. M. closed his practice about a year ago. I have been trying some of the herbs suggested in the book, "Healing Lyme", but so far a it's about 12 months without much success.
Also have been trying rife treatments, and am waiting for a first order of MMS (miracle mineral supplement). As the condition worsens, desperation is setting in.
When I have some energy, I'll take a look at the Getting Started Module.
Thanks again for your response,
Dave

Welcome Dave, I understand
Welcome Dave,
I understand how difficult it is to get through the information here. Read what you can, if you are like me, you may have to reread many times. I just know, if I was you I would start the supplementsi, the NACi, to see if you have a reaction.
I hope you can find a doc to prescribe so you can start eradicating this horrible bacteria. There are some recommended pieces of information for MD's.
Blessings for your wellness journey.
