I remember some of you saying you started taking leucine immediately after learning about it from Andreas.
Have you felt any changes attributable to the supplement?
How much are you taking?
When I get my 500 g supply I will probably dissolve several grams in a liter of water and take it throughout the day, to somewhat replicate the experiment described in the thesis. I haven't figured out the quantity yet.
Before getting your updates I remain somewhat skeptical since no increase in the leucine concentration was found in the cells of the treated mice.
Let's see first how you're doing.

Well, I received my Leucin
Well, I received my Leucin shipment form the online body buildung shop Saturday und started taking it Sunday. So, I'm on Leucin 5 days now. It's a white powder which has got an ugly bitter taste. I put one soup spoon of it (no dosage recommendation is known) in a glass of water. It doesn't dissolve into the water. The whiter powder keeps swimming on top of the water. Obviously it's significantly lighter then water.
Effects? None, that I could recognize. Nothing has changed in me since I started taking it 5 days ago. I alread have been feeling well on my capi. And I keep on feeling that way good. Nothing changed. It seems to be a downfall. Or at least, it doesn't seem to bring any surplus of effects in addition to the cap.
An explanation could be:
An Arginine (which is another amino acid) shortage was discovered with me 3 years ago at the time when nobody thought of Cpni in my case. So, I purchased an Arginine supplement product from a bodybuilding shop. Took it. No effects, too. I reported this to my Doc. He said, it is impossible to resorb Arginine as it is from food intake through the colons. What you've got to take is a molecular complex of Arginine locked up with an crystal acid. The colons can absorb this and metabolism breaks of the compound setting pure Arginine free in the blood stream ...
Maybe it's the same with Leucin. There are a couple of nonsense products being marketed in the bodybuilding scene.
I'll ask my Doc about this next time I see him. I'll keep you posted.

PS: I took a compound Arginine formula then 3 years ago, which made be feel better for about 2 or 3 months. Later on the effects faded out.

Doxyi,Minoi,Azi, Roxyi, Metroi pulses; Vitamin D + B3, Calciumcluconat, Selenium, Enterococcus faecalis, Lactophilus acidophilus + bifidusSorry to hear that,
Sorry to hear that, Andreas.
And thanks a lot for the update. The result is not in the least unexpected after what I read in that thesis.
Luckily, you don't seem to be ok without new discoveries.
I regret having ordered it, but since it will come it wouldn't hurt giving it a try.
Best to all of you.

Andreas,Thank you for
Andreas,
Thank you for providing that thesis. I have been following that thread, trying to understand more.
Interesting, your experience with Arginine. I, recently, have been feeling much better on a high Lysine/low Arginine diet. Had suffered from severe weight loss/protein deficiency which made all symptoms worse. Some of my latest lab results were:
HHV-6 IgGi : 12.30 (>0.99 = Positive)
Mycoplasma pneumonia: 3.04 (> 1.09 = Positive)
Both Herpes viruses and Mycoplasma depend on/utilize Arginine to survive. So, maybe, this is why I am feeling better by reducing my Arginine intake? I do plan on discussing this more with my doctor.
