Ibuprofen / Inflammation / Flagyl Pulse

Following the last discussion we had about Naproxen / Aleve as a COX-2 Inhibitor, Kim started taking Ibuprofen during pulse week and has just completed her first pulse week with Ibuprofen.  She took 400mg twice a day for the 7 day pulse.  She had a pretty easy pulse feeling somewhat more tired but not nearly as impacted as she had been in other pulses.

Then she stopped taking Ibuprofen on day 8 when she stopped taking Flagyli.

Beginning on day 8 and into day 9 (post-pulse day 2) she got more tired, more cold feeling, poopers, and just and overall "Day 6 of Flagyl" type feeling.  I suggested that Kim take some Ibuprofen, just a few minutes ago.  But, I hope someone can explain this to me.  Is it residual die-off?  Or is it suppressed die-off?  Delayed die-off?  Should she take less Ibuprofen during the pulse?  Has anyone experienced this?  Ken

I can't explain it, but if it made her pulse easier, just keep on: pulsing doesn't have to make you feel bad!................Sarah

An Itinerary in Light and Shadow

Completed Stratton/Wheldon regime for aggressive secondary progressive MSi in June 2007, after four years, three of which intermittent.   Still improving bit by bit and no relapses since finishing treatment.

Ken,

I believe reading that Jim K has taken ibuprofen along with Flagyli at bedtime to help ease symptoms of pulse before they ever get started. Smile

I've also read that Stratton recommends 200 mg 2/day for treating symptoms from CAPi.  I only take it on occasion and each time I feel better and think "why didn't I take this sooner?" Undecided

I don't know exactly how it works, but I'm sure it helps control inflammationi due to cytokinesi so maybe Kim was nipping it in the bud like Jim was trying to do with his dosing.

Thanks Sarah.  The crazy thing is that she didn't get the side effects until the day after the pulse when she did not take Flagyli and she did not take Ibuprofen.  Strange?  Ken

Thank you  Reenie.  I have a similar understanding as you do.  I'm just curious about the timing of this in relation to the pulse and wondering if it's related to having taken Ibuprofen all 7 days of the pulse too.  I'm wondering a lot.  Ken

Not strange at all, Ken. Fallout from a pulse can hit later after a few days from the end of a pulse or even up to two weeks later. Just depends when those infected cells die. Raven

Feeling 98% well-going for 100. Very low test for Cpni. CAPi since 8-05 for Cpn/Mycoplasma P.,Lyme, Bartonella, Mold exposure,NACi,BHRT, MethyB12 FIRi Sauna. 1-18-11 begin new treatment plan with naturopath

Thanks Raven.  It all makes sene, but I wanted to flush it out here.  I don't like to miss anything ...... and in this case I feel like I did.  I'm just hoping Kim will be able to recover for the boys basketball games tomorrow - she is the #1 Fan!  Ken

Ken,

Maybe it would help to try to repeat the same thing next pulse?
