This will be one of the FEW times I am blushing as I type this. I finished my 3rd pulse and THOUGHT it was uneventful as far as the ABXi go. Then I loged onto the Tims website. Ok, now I'm REALLY BLUSHING......
While it is true that we bare our souls anonymously to folks, it does somehow heal us to know we are not alone in facing these monsters. The one BIG exception is sharing ALL the personal details of it. I've had to re-live this through Ken's eyes which in a way helped me to just get over it. It is always a good thing to be able to laugh at yourself! There, I am not blushing,I admit I have peed my pants in public, tied a jacket around my waist and finished shopping. I had a yeast infection and never knew it AND have problems having an orgasm again. There I feel much better. Kinda like confession only infront of ALL OF YOU!!! Ken thinks its good to let everyone know this stuff as it may help somebody who can't find the courage to speak their minds.
I think it was Mack who said that if I'm impatient about how long this is taking, that "it's a HUGE sign of improvement". I dont remember the last time I would walk to the bathroom, sit and wait to pee. YEAH for the littlest of miracles. I know its working but it will just have to be on our lords watch.

Kim, I share with you the problem of trying to be descrete around body excretions. Many's the time I have found myself trying to descretly maneuver to the bathroom while excretions are pre-empting my efforts. Courage means pursuing our goals in spite of life's humiliations.

Kim, I applaud you and Ken
Kim,
I applaud you and Ken for your frank and blunt approach to describing for all to see the effects of the disease and treatment on your life. When you deal with something like this - you become more humble and more open - which I view as good things for humanity.
Funny story - we had friends over for dinner - i prepped them for what they would experience with my husband - after dinner we were sitting on sofas talking - my husband abruptly stood up and loudly announced "I have to take a sh**t". Nothing discrete or socially acceptable about that. I am sure my face colored red abit but I said okay - and got up and took him. That was that. Welcome to the reality of our world. Deal with it and take as we are or run away like most.
I too have been ultra candid about my husband's issue. Except the sex part but it probably goes without saying - that's off the table.
So far it's been a benefit to me for being blunt and blogging so frankly - by doing so 1) have great record of what has happened 2) have outside perspective, ideas and suggestions as well as encouragement from a great group of people.
Ultimately my detailed blog may help the next person told to go home and prepare to die from Balo's. Maybe they will read our story and chose instead to prepare to fight.
Maybe the same will happen for you and your blog. People seem to be very interested via the huge boom in reality television in being voyeurs on minute details of others lives. I would think that would be doubly so for those struggling in mostly the dark with a horrible illness.
Just know that for every person who reads the details of your health issues - many shake their heads - yes - I know that one.

Kim, I was a quiet and modest person until late 2003. Now I talk about all manner of things, but it helps people make the choice. My neuroi effectively told me to go home and die but I come from two long lived families and I had only been married ten years.
As soon as this becomes accepted, mainstream treatment we won't need to bare our souls and neither will our partners!.............Sarah
