Hi all
Sorry if this appears twice - I thought I submitted it a few minutes ago, but now I don't see it...
I'm on day 47 (just Dox and Zithi), gearing up for my first Flagyli pulse in a few weeks, and I have some questions:
I've talked to a couple folks who have been on Flagyl who say it's no fun & you *must* have some food in your stomach when you take it... does that match your experience? I currently take the Dox and Zith at about 4am and 4 pm on an empty stomach... do I take the Flagyl with the other abXi? If/when I do, do I need some food in my stomach too?
My other supplementsi (D,C, E, B, fish oil, calmag... you know the list!), I try to separate from the abXi as much as I can... along with some acidolphilus (sp?) and maybe some other probiotics.( I use the probiotic pills when the acidolphilus in the fridge is inconvenient)

No further comment apart from this. I take tinidazole as opposed to flagyli.
Guess you have to do the homework for yourself, as we are all so different.
Good Luck,

If you can take doxyi on an empty stomach, you may have an extremely strong stomach! Usually people need food with that. I had an allergic reaction to flagyli. it is rare, I guess. but it made me glad that I took only 1/4 of a 100 mg tablet my first time. I would suggest maybe taking a smaller dose the first time, just to see how you will react to it. I know three women who took the Stratton Protocol back when I did, who felt that flagyl benefitted them greatly in terms of giving them great energy, and none of them believed it was a problem to tolerate.
I took my little experimental dose at bedtime, and also gave my son his at bedtime when he took it. Both of us had a euphoric state of mind which seemed to happen as a result of the flagyl as it was taking effect. Another girl told me something similar happened to her, to the point that she LOVED taking flagyl. So go figure. Son took it for 5 days before he began feeling anything unfavorable connected with it and so stopped at five days.
My point is, try not to gear up believing something dreadful might happen...and, maybe try it at bedtime unless someone can give you more experienced advice. Usually when I take any pill at bedtime, I do it with just a small bite of bread or something, and that's also what I give my son when he takes bedtime meds. Zithi, I always took on an empty stomach. See what others think, but this would be my advice. Good luck!

I agree with Diana, if you can take doxyi on an empty stomache then you should be in good shape to take flagyli. My daughter must take doxy with food or else she quickly gets an upset stomach. She takes the first two flagyl doses with food (lunch and dinner) and then takes the third dose before bed on an empty stomach.
I have found it quite challenging to keep the abxi, thyroid meds., iron supplementsi, probiotics, supplementsi etc... separate but somehow we are managing to do it. Every once in awhile I mess up and realize, she just took two things that don't go together (probiotic and antibiotic -- ugh) but if we stick to our regular schedule then things usually run smoothly.
Good luck,
Maria

Interesting... I think I have a good stomach as far as putting things into it - but motion takes me down; a merry-go-round will make me nausous!
I think on my first Flagyli pulse I'll split the pills in half for the first 2 days before going full-bore, but if it hits me like 100mg of Dox (which is to say, undetectable) I should be OK.

Sounds like a good plan of action...and if you take it before you close your eyes at night, maybe the motion won't be an issue. I always take meds before bed when I am not sure how they will affect me, because I can often sleep thru anything I might notice if I were awake.
Good luck!

I've taken most meds on an empty stomach throughout the protocol. Flagyli, which I'd taken a couple of times before I ever heard of CAPi, has never had any stomach or queasiness effect on me.
The 'reaction' you are hearing about is probably the die-off effect of flagyl, not a nausea effect. The whole idea of taking the flagyl is to kill the critters outright and the result of the 'kill' can be unpleasant for some people.
Try one dose. See how it goes. Nobody says you have to take an entire five-day course of flagyl the first time you try it.

Prepare for the worst and be happy that it's easier than you had expected.
Remember to keep probiotics spaced a couple hours away from abxi.
Our pulse week kit is: Glucose, Charcoal, Nori, Ibuprofen, Tums
Charcoal needs to be spaced a couple hours from anything else.
While everyone is different, I'm just going to say that Kim got slammed her first pulse; tired, uncomfortable, fogged, edgy, upset stomach. Ken
