First flagyl today

My last blog post was title 'Smooth Sailing'... I was feeling good at the time, but since I have been up and down and all over the place. Sometimes I feel great and full of optimism (I ran for 25 minutes on Monday, a record) and at other times I am very fatigued, feeling low and a little desperate.

Today I am taking my first Flagyli dose, I plan to take 3x400mg pills today, one at each meal, and see how it goes. I am a little apprehensive as I have so much to accomplish work wise.

Yes I agree.  Based on my experience, the Flagyli was my biggest problem as far as die-off.  Take one pill today and maybe one tomorrow if you don't react.  Then wait a couple of weeks to make sure you don't have a delayed reaction.

I took my first one (Metroi)

I took my first one (Metroi) last Thursday and only one tablet and felt awful until today, I don't feel wonderful now, but better than I did. All my MSi symptoms came back to bite me and things that I hadn't realised were part of this infection. Even an old surgery incision from when I was 14 joined in by itching tremendously.

My walking and balance were really bad - and I did try to keep walking on the Air Walker machine (thanks for the tip Sarah) but it was very hard.

I am waiting the full three weeks now before I try to increase the dose and I work from home - if I didn't I would not have been able to work.

Carol, Glad to hear you are

Carol, Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.  Just wanted to know how long after that one tablet did you begin to feel the start of feeling awful?

Also I search for the Air Walker Machine.  Looks like a good compromise the full oliptical versions are very big.  The Brookstone one that I found was able to fold flat.  Looks like something I could push myself on but not have to worry about balance in a big way. Thanks for mentioning it.  I could see how keeping the nerves firing during the process could have advantages.

Well done

Well done Newbies....

proceed with respect & caution.  I just did 2 days, 1 375 mg pill Sept 30/Oct 1 & I had some porphyriai, gas, kind of like you are dying from the inside out is the only comparison I can imagine.  Lots of glucose & charcoal taken.  I am cloudy, headache, very sore low back & I have not left the property since Sunday.

Tomorrow though, going to see Rain (beatles) so I will rest up for that.

Malcolm, you are blessed to be able to function doing aerobic exercise for 20 minutes.  Many of us can only do small bouts of anaerobic.  I hope that I will be back to my formerly fit self in 2008 or 2009, however long it takes.  I am going to persist.

I felt really good for about

I felt really good for about a few hours after taking it in the evening, but that may have been the LDNi. The next day I was slammed...I am just hoping that there won't be any delayed reaction in the next 3 weeks.

I got the Carl Lewis walker from Amazon and yes it is pretty big, however it is very stable which is what I like about it. I have it in the living room for the time being - until we have unpacked all the boxes from moving in last year.

I have to say it is great when there is a boring programme on TV, well something I find boring anyway I can just switch off mentally and walk  off the die-off. Wink

Hey Carol, I've got a

Hey Carol, I've got a proper ellipse now!  It is quite big, though but it suits my height better.

Funny thing is, when I started metronidazolei, I did five days, full dose, straight off, because I didn't know any better.  I felt very weird, but not achy.  I wasn't able to do much then, though, so perhaps I didn't notice it.  Malcom, I'll tell you what, though, if Marie has enough time to see this she will love it, because she is very hot on the need to exercise.......Sarah

Me, too, Sarah. Full dose

Me, too, Sarah. Full dose of flagyli because at that time, I don't think many of us knew there might be such big reactions to flagyl pulses! I slept a lot, most of my symptoms reared up a little, but that was about it.

I have completed my first

I have completed my first day and didn't notice anything until this morning when I was overcome by fatigue an hour after getting up, I slept for 90 minutes and feel fine. I do have an ache in my right shoulder, which is where I had a problem from before I was diagnosed with MSi. At the time I though it was repetitive strain injury as I work at a computer.

Last weekend I had similar fatigue, it starts with me getting grumpy and irritable, then I just have to get into bed where I fall into a deep sleep for upto 2 hours. It happened last Sunday and again on Monday, after which I felt great (this was before Flagyli).

I have been exercising regularly for ages and when I was dx with MS I was spurred on to exercise more, I used it as a measure of my ability. Since my first episode my main physical problem has been that I can't walk or run after about 20 minutes, I start to stagger and limp. Also my balance and hand eye coordination have been affected (one tennis opponent thought I was drunk!). I have also had periods of fairly intense brain fog and dizziness and various other symptoms, but to the casual observer I appear normal.

So I am hoping that I am tackling this issue early and that I am not going to have huge problems taking these abxi. It occurred to me yesterday that maybe the biggest thing I will have to deal with is these bouts of fatigue. I hope so anyway because sleeping is rather pleasant!
