falling apart...

I was on the NAC/600mgs for about three days then increased to 1200mgs and pow!! my world came to a halt. It was hard to walk and function at all, so Nac was stopped and I started doxyi.100/day. My face is all puffy and once again the weakness, high heart rate and so on.....makes me useless and barely functionable. Is this the begining or the end? this is a tough journey. What is a good anti-inflammatory medication that can help with the vasculities per weldon protocol?.

It sounds like you experienced what I experienced when I first started out.  My first try at it was doing an empirical test with NACi.  I decided for the first 3 days to do a full 1200 mg/day dose.  Why not, right?  Not such a good idea.

On the morning of the third day, standing and walking was a challenge.  I couldn't see straight, couldn't walk unaided.  It sounds like you've had the same situation happen.

The way I got around it was going to a half dose - 600 mg - every other day for a while.  I think I did a month of it.  After that, I cautiously moved up to doing 600 mg/day.  Cautiously.  Then after a month of that, moved up to adding another 600 mg/day ever 2nd or 3rd day.  Still okay.  Then moved up to the full 1200 mg/day.  That was after about 4 months.  So it takes time.

Now, I'm at 2400 mg/day, no problems.  I've even bumped it up beyond that on occasion to 3000 and 3600 mg with no real effect.  So, I'm comfortable leaving it at 2400.

These things take time.  Give yourself the time.  You didn't get where you are now overnight, you won't get yourself back to where  you were before overnight either.

all my best

Bonnie, you have already

Bonnie, you have already started the first stage of treatment with the recommended abxi and NACi for the Wheldon version of the CAPi. John has good advice about going slowly with the dose of NAC - if you didn't have Cpni then you wouldn't have such a reaction with it. I started off with NAC alone for a while and didn't add the doxyi until I was handing 1200mg of NAC OK.

It really is essential that you read the Getting Started pages so that you don't get some nasty surprises with this treatment. The Reactions and Remedies section will help you a lot as you start treating yourself and in this particular case ie. inflammationi you could try some turmeric, I find it really helps with things.

  John,

  John,
Just want to say thank you for the input on the NACi reactions.  You are right when you said, "You didn't get where you are now overnight".  This bug is ticky, and it sneeks up on you before you know it with very scary symptoms. I feel a bit of relief knowing someone else went through a situaton like mine. we all want to get our lives back and the good news......we will with time.
