Elevated Liver Enzyme Saga Continues

Last month my liver enzymes were elevated and my MD told me to get off all abxi. I went off and up'ed my NACi with no problem. My therapist friend came over and gave me exercises to do daily. She also wants me to try to get on stationary bike. I did get on bike with help from my husband. I could only bike 1 minute - and not fast. I got back on the next day and bike more like 5 and got off and was able to pick up leg a little easier for a little while. I plan to get on again tomorrow to see what I can do and keep trying - I plan to record how far I go everyday. I also bought a yoga tape and do the exercises I can do as well as a pilates - haven't watched it yet. Today I went to my MD, had blood draw last week at lab. She said they ran the wrong test and doesn't have results - so needed to take again today. Wants to see me next month and guess she is not ready to discuss restarting until she gets bloodwork back. I am going camping this weekend and hoping to get by and will let you know how that goes when I get back.

I have been doing a very basic yoga I saw when I was in AZ on PBS from Peggy Cappa.  It is perfect for me right now.  It has some relaxing moments which are good for the lymph drainage too!

Have a great time Wiggy, Ella does that kind of thing every so often with good friends at her side.   She always finds using the toilets (bathroom) the most difficult thing.   The tent is usually parked so far away from them.

Joyce, I will have a great time - this is an all inclusive camping trip. We are in a cabin, all meals and activities are planned for the leaders. We just have to watch the kids and a lot of parents are going along with 3 leaders. Barbara, They were not that elevated but my MD was scared. I am feeling good so I know they are ok. I am in process of bumping up NACi. Could only tolerate 750 once I add abxi. Now I am taking 1500 and plan to double that dose before May is over. I am also taking liver enzymes. I have an appointment with new abxi dr. in June (his first available)- he will get me back on track. Only worry is cpni having hayday while I am off abx. Ruth, This is a fun age, so it will be a good time - I do not think we will sleep that is why we will go for only one night - everyone else is staying for two. I love my yoga tape - says its great for liver and lymph! Very relaxing! Wiggy, check your label I have doubts that you are taking liver enzymes.  Digestive enzymes possibly? How elevated was not that elevated?  Also to note that Doxyi causes elevations of liver enzymes in some people. it is a known fact was on my packet insert with a refill of doxy.   If they level off in the low to moderately elevated range then the cost risk comparison needs to be considered. 

So with my situation I was found to level in the moderately elevated range.  I may be tested again this week but the MD did not want me to get them reevaluate before our visit this Friday.  So for me this is good news as I will get my next round of rx written.  I am not going to push for reevaluation at this point. 

During my hiatus from pulses this past winter (while checking out the elevated liver enzymes) I went to a hepatobilliary transplant center for evaluation of my Gall Bladder and hepatobiliary system.  ( I wanted a good place to have it out if it was time).  I was tested for all the current viral liver pathogens and found negative so it really is the medication for me.   I may have the GB removed if it acts up again but now it is back to its usually sedate state.  I have been avoiding removal for 30 year.  Yes I have know about them for 30 years.  Cream, chicken fat, and pecan pie are the known dietary stimulant for Biliary Colic Attack (pain) I have no lodged stones and no obstruction by US exam.  I swore off decaf coffee (yes I like it with cream) no more Tai Noodle Soup, they are generous with the chicken fat and no more pecan pie etc.  Just clean dull dietary living with my GB inside and still do it's job the best it can! Wink

Louise, My level was in the

Louise, My level was in the high range in the normal category. It was higher than she had ever seen it - as she does monthly labs. I was feeling slightly toxic like my body isn't clearing die off. So its ok. I had also added baclofen about 8 weeks prior which can cause elevated liver enzymes. She let me stay on the baclofen but I am trying to get off it as its not a good in my non-medical opinion :) I feel good now will continue to up my NACi and hope for the best until I can get to a doctor comfortable with abxi. Just adding a few months to my five year treatment. Sorry to hear about gallbladder and dull dietary requirements but it appears to be keeping GB in tact!
