a miniscule marker in my treatment, but I have NEVER in my life had a coldsore..... and I now have one that appeared this morning out of nowhere. Guess the antibiotic's are finding the infectionsi in my body! Last week, I was getting small, inflammed red bumps (looked like a pimple coming on) randomly around my mouth... just a few.
Past two weeks have been EXTREMELY difficult -- my fatigue and weakness have me down almost all day.... I am having "wiggy" porphyric episodes again (waves of anxiety... chest pain, coughing), which seem to dissipate with sublingual b12 and Vit C (as long as I stay in bed and don't move around). My lymph nodes in my left arm, shoulder and neck are swollen and very tender....
I had never "really" been diagnosed or experienced true CFIDS or FM until June of this year.... oh, yeah, over the past 15 years, I had weekends I slept away, or days that I came home from work and "crashed", but never the full blown, can't function CFIDSi.... the reality of my incapacity and the damage this bacteria has done is starting to mentally sink in...
I reflect on my beginning, unrealistic expectations of this protocol as being such, ONLY because of my denial that I am actually sick. I realize I have progressed from the "denial" to the "grieving" stage of accepting this illness. I have never not been able to do anything and I am having to learn how to deal with myself and how to cope in this process - how to live with this process......
My husband comforts me and tells me I AM much better than I was 6 months ago (taking into consideration my "episodes of incapacity") it is just that in my mind I was going to normal by now! LOL
I will read this post in another 6 months and smile..... because I WILL be much better than I am...... today!

Now, I'll return the favor and encourage you to hit your doc up for Valtrex. HHV-1 may seem harmless, but it's not. It can go chronic and cause seemingly unrelated problems as do many other pathogens. Keep your chin up,

I understand the reality of things setting in, having had to accept these things myself. There are days when I wonder why, but we know there is a greater plan. Even illness can be a blessing; a time to reflect, assess & reassess, discover, change.
I have hope I will claw my way back from this & return to a new normal. You will too friend; don't lose hope. It is a great sign your husband is seeing improvement.
I am day 6 after pulse #3 & hit a rough patch last nite, sweats, & sleeplessness. I have had a little depression over & above my norm & Herpes I acting up as well as different pain patterns with sore ankles & knees so far. The good thing is the fog is better, not done, but better for short periods, not days but hours & then I mentally tire. No multi tasking for this woman yet.
I am telling you this because it will happen for you too.

I have an appt. in a week and will put Valtrex on my "list" :). I have been questioning whether an anti-viral pharmaceutical would help with my CFIDSi symtoms.

..... My naturopathic dr. in my home state had me use this prior to the "whole approach". I tried it and felt extreme die-off (except at the time I didn't know that is what it was) so I didn't continue it -- and now realize I should have. I have been contemplating trying it again.

hmmm, I didn't notice a difference in my health when I stopped taking the Valtrex. I replaced it with L Lysine. I have only taken it occasionally to get a quick reaction to flare ups, 3 weeks ago I developed a cold sore that just came out of the blue!
