Curcumin for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Hi All, I have IBD and CPNi as well as Lyme and babesia, but I've beenr reading great things about curcumin spice as being a natural anti inflammatory, anti viral, anti cancer agent. Has anyone taking this for inflammationi, especially for the gut or colon and it's helped? Thanks

Hi iwillgetbetter,

I'm certainly no expert, and while enjoying this spice in a good curry every now and again probably won't hurt, Curcumin is a known 5-LOX inhibitor, and studies would suggest that 5-LOX inhibitors may interfere with your immunei response:

For more information on this, read these two pages in the Vitamin D3 Book:

I had IBSi for years, but I no longer have issues with it.   In addition to the CAPi, I believe Vit D3, magnesium and zinc really helped.   Also, I believe a probiotic I've been taking with L. reuteri also has helped immensely...

Anyway, hope this helps.   Take care...
