Welcome Midas,The answers
Welcome Midas,
The answers to these and many, many other questions are here on the site, but we also encourage questions such as these.
Lyme disease is from ticks. It is probably like MSi, CFIDSi, and the many diseasesi that we are discovering that fall under this broad umbrella. A short answer is that for the brief time that someone is coughing, CPni is contagious. As far as I know Lyme disease is not contagious. It is infectious - thai is, from a tick bite. We are finding astonishing things on this site: many of these diseases are caused by this bug, having been thought for decades to be caused by immunological defects.
So - read the sound science behind this and the "Getting Started" and keep asking questions. Someone with a better grasp will be along to give a more comprehensive reply.

Its just that my friend has
Midas, most people have
Midas, most people have carried, or carry the CPni bacteria, not everyone has the responses that we have. (Please someone correct this if this is wrong but if memory serves me right I thought the number was around 90% by the time we reach a certain age?)
As far as the bacteria that causes Lyme, there are studies showing the bacteria can transfer through the placenta from mother to fetus, but I don't believe anyone feels it can be transferred just from normal day-to-day contact with people with Lyme disease.
