I took 5 mgs of Cytomel (T3), 12.5mgs of the Iodoral (iodine), and 100 mgs. of Selenium, this AM. And, the Evening Primrose oil. If I don't take it, my menstrual cycle starts back up and/or I bleed heavily. This happened to me 3 times, in less than 30 days. Was suffering from a bad case of secondary porphyriai, after the IV ABXi. In hindsight, I wish that I had never, ever deviated from the Wheldon regime. Tried Benadryl, Allegra, Famatodine, Benfotiamine, Bentonite, Actos, Benicar, Welchol, Neurontin, and charcoal. But nothing, except glucose, seemed to help. Even the predinsone (steroid) bursts made me worse. The 3mgs of LDNi, that I was taking each night, was making symptoms worse, too. Have knocked it down to 1.5 mg and may have discontinue it, altogether.

Maybe I'll finally be able to get out of the house, again...

I took 2gms Keflex for 10 days. Didn’t realize that I was developing neuropathy. Then, IV Rocephini for 6 days. All for cellulitis in a toe. Then, developed severe neuropathy. Stuck in the house for 6 weeks, now. Tried Benadryl, Allegra, Pecid, WelChol, Charcoal, Bentonite clay, to little or no avail. Even stopped CAPi altogether, just trying to deal with die-off.
Survived 1st day of IV Rocephin
Submitted by Minai on Fri, 2008-03-28 10:48.The cellulitis came back--travelling up left foot, leg, and hip. Lymph nodes in groin, swollen. All other symptoms, getting worse and worse. So, an infectious disease doctor prescribed 1gm Rocephini IV infusions for 7-9 days, as an outpatient. If it doesn't cure it, she then wants me to start Vancomycin. Am still taking the Doxyi and Roxi, of course. My Lyme doc thinks I need 2-3 months of IV treatment. But, we shall see. So far, so good. No overwhelming die-off, so far. In fact, aside from being tired, I feel pretty good, today.

Keflex caused Pseudo-Relapse
Submitted by Minai on Sun, 2008-03-16 16:12.Well, I just don't know what to think. After finishing my 10 day, 500mg, 4 X day prescription for Keflex; I began a follow-up script for 500mgs, 3 X day. The cellulitis in my toe was healing. Yet, I began to get all of the symptoms back that I was hospitalized for, a year ago. I have continued to take doxycycline and roxithromycin. But when I stopped taking the Keflex, 3 days ago, all symptoms of psuedo-relapse are now gone!
Broken Duck/ First Pulse :-)
Submitted by Minai on Sun, 2007-08-12 14:53.I have now officially "broken the duck." That is, completed my very first, 1000mgs Tinidazole pulse, yesterday! ![]()
The only ill effects that I experienced were an increase in labrynthitis and dizziness; and, becoming slightly over-emotional.
The jaw pain (that I was told was caused by anaerobic infection, by my dental surgeon) is gone! And, the severe Raynaud's symptoms that I have been experiencing for months, gone, too!!!
I feel so much better from Tini, not worse!!! I just hope that this will all last and that I do not experience any adverse, delayed reactions!
My Pulse Faux Pas!!!
Submitted by Minai on Mon, 2007-06-11 14:34.Oh, how I only wish I were joking...but the night before last, I mistakenly took 1, 250mg of Tinizadole!!!![]()
2 ABX better than 1. 1, at too low a dose harmful!
Submitted by Minai on Sun, 2007-06-03 13:04.I have just recently learned the hard way, how correct Sarah and Jim are about this!
Was only taking 100mgs Doxycycline for severals months, following pseudo-relapse. Had been holding off on the 200mgs and re-starting Roxithromycin, until I had adjusted taking LDNi. But, was having trouble doing so.
Nearly three weeks ago, I developed what my husband and I thought must be the only ingrown toenail I had ever had in my entire life. So, I called my prescribing GP who told me to get it taken care of immediately with a Podiatrist. When seen, however, I was told that this was not an ingrown toenail at all. But a mild case of cellulitis! Both he and the GP were astounded, since I was taking the Doxy so it shouldn’t be happening.
Azith to Roxith…picking up where I left off.
Submitted by Minai on Mon, 2006-12-04 02:52.When last I blogged, I was starting Azithromycin I had already started NACi, 1000mg/day months before. Then, Doxycyclinei 200mg/day for two months. I was tolerating both, quite well. When I started the Doxy, I immediately no longer needed my cane with which to walk! But, then came the Azith.
I started off with the full Wheldon regime dose of 250mg 3X/week. But, I gradually started to experience some very strange symptoms. Whenever I’d take a step, I felt as if I was placing my foot in ice. My whole body and nervous system responded accordingly with immediately wanting to withdraw that foot. And, with pain, as if I hadn’t. That’s what it felt like while walking. Dealing with such reaction was exhausting. I cut the Azith dose down to half. And, having the recommendation that Roxithromycini might be a gentler alternative, I placed an online order.
Doctor called this evening...it's worse than I thought.
Submitted by Minai on Wed, 2006-10-18 19:10.Well, I guess it's official...
Submitted by Minai on Tue, 2006-10-10 00:23.The phone call I made to my Alternative GP, today, sure paid off! He has agreed to prescribe from the Wheldon protocol for me, in spite of his belief that Lyme is the primary MSi culprit. He told me, "I don't care whose protocol you are on, as long as it gets you well." And, he did say that he thinks Flagyli is too "brutal." So, I suppose we shall see.
Tomorrow I go in for my Azithromycin script to add to my 200mg/day Doxycycline and 15 drops/day Samento. Also, he told me that he wants to test me using this lab for CPni, Lyme, and other infectionsi: http://www.mdlab.com/html/home.html
Has anyone else ever been tested by this lab? And, if so, do you think that the test results were accurate?
Also, I just figured out why I have had such awful constipation problems since starting the Doxy...
