Best day yet! Quick update...

Best day yet! Quick update on my health... I'm in 2nd week of NACi 600mg, Doxyi 200mg, and Erythromycin 250mg and I actually had a decent day. Had stamina for about 6 full hours of work today and I've been online a while tonight. I was only nauseated once today and was able to knock it out with some good ole' fashion compazine. I've been stuffy for several days and sneezing, but not so bad that I can't deal with it! Much better than the NAC flu!

I'm tiring now, but actually feel like I can say I felt better today than I have since starting CAPi. I'm trying not to set myself up by reminding myself that tomorrow is a new day, come what may, and not to get discouraged if this doesn't last.

I'm taking everyone's advice and slowing down with adding doses, etc. I'm going to stay on this one daily dose of Erytab for at least a full week and see if I remain feeling better before trying to increase the dose. Thank you all for your encouragement. Just had to take minute to say THANKS! Smile

L-methionine may be an equivalent for some purposes but not, I think for its use here, otherwise it would be noted in this< page.  The alternative is amoxicillini but that means yet another antibiotic. I didn't take either for eighteen months after starting, but the main point of NAC is that it stops reinfection of Cpni, which is why I still take it now...........Sarah

Great News Lynn!

Remember when you have those energy spurts, resist the temptation to "over do" as they come back to bite you on the ash!

I read some info a while back that says we have to resist over doing due to post exertional malaise or crashing.  The author said to stop before you feel tired, that if you get to the tired point, that is your clue you have done too much.  It is just before that point that I try to stop when I recognize it,  it isn't easy!

Thanks for the kudos! And thanks for the reminder to not over-do, that is SO ME! I have to learn when to stop! Before I crash. Other than work frustrations, today was pretty good, considering...

Lynn -

So great you are feeling better -- wonderful to have some energy back.

Question:  for you, Jim, Lisa, etc.

I am now taking a ten day (4x/day) course of Erythromycin for a severe case of bronchitis.  I've always tolerated Erythro very well.  Can Erythro be substituted for the Azithro/Roxi/Biaxin in the CAPi<??

Lynn - Your MD prescribed it for you so I am assuming that this is the role it will play (as a sub for azith or biaxin).  If it can be substituted this would be such a help for me.

Also, is it absolutely 100% necessary to include NACi? I know the answer, but keep hoping there is some "wiggle room."

Still here!

Hi Denise:

Yes, that is my understanding that he is using the Eryth in place of Azith/Roxi/Biaxin. Seems to be working for me. He hasn't mentioned if he will switch me later. He actually did tell me he wants me to do my pulses with it and doxyi.

I think you do know the answer to the NACi question. I plunged through it. Hard as it is, you can to. I'm sure I'm only getting started with it. But doc did tell me to try L-Methyanine if I just couldn't tolerate the NAC. Didn't get much feedback from others on this, though.

Anyone know about it or its comparison to NAC in how well it works?

Hang in there!

You might want to direct the NACi question to Sarah. As I recall, she only added NAC after some months on the other abxi. This doesn't say 'no NAC', but it could be your 'wiggle room'.
