Arums after the Storm

Arums after the Storm

In 2003 I completed six large oil paintings for the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship.  These were the last paintings I did before I found myself unable to paint at all.  Two were of arums caught up in a storm and Cunard were unhappy with them, thinking that they would upset the people staying in the penthouse suites.   I suppose they had a point!  I replaced the clouds with trees.

This is a watercolour study for a new oil painting I am working on, bigger and better than the original, storm clouds reinstated..............Sarah

I’ve wanted to do this for so long!  At the moment, though, the canvas seems so large..............Sarah

Stunning!

Another journey in  light and shadow. I suspect you have many. I think these paintings are rich. No wonder the Queen Mary folks wanted your work. (So would I)!
Beautiful Sarah - as always.

Sarah, you are truly gifted. They're intense and powerful, as well as beautiful.

I always admire your beautiful flowers. They are always so colourful and optimistic and give much joy and hope.

<Thank you everyone!

This is a link to the six completed paintings:  http://www.avenues-of-sight.com/13a-Sarah.html< I don’t like them particularly because I wasn’t thinking clearly whilst doing them and my arm kept giving out.  It took me far longer than normal to do six largish paintings then by the time they were finished, I spent two weeks trying to sign them.  I also don’t like the trees I put in the arum paintings to cover over the clouds.

If you felt like clicking the back button at the bottom of the page, you will be able to see more work, including my most recent stuff at the top of the page..............Sarah

Your link should be http://www.avenues-of-sight.com/13a-Sarah.html<

I had to go into unformatted html to get the link correct. I agree about the captchas, infuriating things; it looks like they are invoked if you try to add even one link to a post.

Thank you, Speedbird, but I’m not sure how my link doubles back to this page when it looks correct.  My feeling is that it is something to do with having been captcha-ed twice whilst doing the post, but maybe I am just thinking that because the scheme annoys me so much...............................Sarah

Speedbird, My one word response (Stunning) to Sarah was also captcha'd. It's beyond ridiculous.

Oh, its a regular occurrence now.  Especially when posting a link. Even to my own site!

By the way, Speedbird is a web designer.  (hint, hint).............Sarah

Yes; yes she is. I know she offered assistance a couple of years ago, but the problem (I think it had to do with the upgrade, where we lost a lot of links when pages were relocated by the program) was addressed by Bleu and the issue was dropped. I've taken her advice on more than one occasion, as I'm 'technologically challenged', and her solutions worked out great for me. (Thanks, Carol!)

This is very flattering but I have no experience of Drupal at all. Wordpress or Joomla yes, but I'll have alook around to see if anything that I have used on them can be used on here to combat spammers. If there is I'll suggest it to Kent.
